HATFIELD BROAD OAK,
England (UPI) — Pensioner
Jack Brooks thinks the sign
outside his village reading
“Hatfield B.O.” stinks and he
has complained to county
authorities.
“8.0. had odorous overtones
because of the T.V. soap
advertisment,” Brooks said.
“The sign is a slur on this
lovely village. It could embar
rass visitors and give the place
a bad name.”

COFFEE PACT
WASHINGTON (UPI) -The
house, prompted by some
Congressmen who object to
Brazil’s 200-mile offshore fish
ing rights claim, has put off
consideration of extending an
agreement under which the
United States buys large
amounts of Brazilian coffee.
The agreement expires July
1. Brazil announced its claim to
200 miles of exclusive fishing
rights starting June 1. Rep.
Sam Gibbons, D-Fla., said the
fishing rights claim “would
work a hardship on a great
number of shrimp fishermen
operating out of my area.”
