inning to snap a 2-2 tie and beat
the Griffin Lions 5-2 in their first
meeting in the Senior Babe

walked two.
Ted Manolis, the Lions’ losing
pitcher, hurled a fine game. He
gave up only five hits, struck
out five and walked three.
Peurifoy hit a double and
single for Post 15. Rollin Busbin
doubled in two runs, Gregg
Crawford singled in one and
Mark Watkins singled.
Darrell Jones hit a home run
for the Lions. Charles
Buckalew, Darrell Whatley and
Mike Cato singled.
The victory gave Post 15 sole
possession of first place in the
four team league with a 2-0
record. The Lions are now 1-1.
Post 15 took a 1-0 lead in the
second inning when Kenneth
Short walked, stole second,
reached third on an infield out
and scored on an error.
The Lions went ahead 2-1 in
the bottom of the inning. Darrell
Jones’ homer tied the score.
Darrell Whatley singled, stole
second and scored on Mike
Cato’s single.
Post 15 tied the score in the
fifth on a walk to Keith Phillips,
stolen base and a costly error.
After Phillips and Stuart
Jones reached on errors in the
seventh, Busbin laced a double
down the line, scoring both
runners Busbin scored on
Crawford’s singled.
The Griffin Lions will play
McDonough Sunday at City
Park. Post 15 meets Jackson in
Jackson Monday night.

League.
Jeff Martin was Bank of
Griffin’s winning pitcher. He
allowed only four hits. Miles
Maddox was charged with
Bonanza’s loss.
Tommie Coleman hit two
home runs and a single for Bank
of Griffin. Kenny Barrow hit
three singles, Kevin Hollis and
Keith Barrow hit two singles
and Gary Betz, Brent Martin,
Jeff Martin, Sammy Nelson and
Tim Dunn singled.
