Bambi has turned tiger.
Lance Alworth, the veteran
pass receiver who earned the
nickname “Bambi” for his
graceful gait and leaping
ability, demonstrated to Dallas
coach Tom Landry that he was
more than just a pass receiver
against Los Angeles last week.
“Alworth was very impres
sive with his blocking” said
Landry Wednesday of the
former American Football
League receiving star, who cost
the Cowboys three players to
get him from San Diego this
season. “He hit everybody who
came close. And that’s what we
need to make our running game
go”
