With Mississippi State then
their only remaining league foe,
the Bengals would virtually as
sure themselves of at least
sharing the SEC title they won
last year if they should beat Al
abama. But a victorious Ala

past fifth-ranked Auburn, Nov.

LSU, which crushed Ole Miss,
61-17, before a national televi
sion audience last December,
has lost only one conference
game the past three seasons.
That was in 1969 when Ole
Miss beat the Bengals, 26-23, at
Jackson.
Vince Dooley, the ever-cauti
ous Georgia coach, claims to be
worried .about South Carolina.
“We have a lot of respect for
South Carolina despite what
happened last week,” he said.
“We’ll be playing the most di
versified passing team we have
faced this season.”
That, admits Dooley, could be
a good thing since the following
two weeks Georgia goes against
Reaves and Sullivan.
