Power Sewing
Power Sewing Machine Operations is a one-quarter course.
It is designed to help women find employment in this area
where so many garment industries are located.
Nearly three out of four clothing workers are in some kind
of sewing job. Sewing machine operators use power-driven
machines which are usually heavier and faster than machi
nes found in the home. Therefore, proper training is a must
Knowledge of several different machines, as well as related
job information will be gained.

Evening
Program
The Adult Evening classes
are designed to serve a variety
of needs. Opportunities are pro
vided for retraining adults for
jobs currently in demand and
extension courses are designed
to upgrade the individual in his
present job. A limited number
of Pre-Emplqyment Programs
are offered in the evening for
certain occupations. These
courses are offered according to'
demand, school facilities and
equipment necessary for train
ing.
Presently, Griffin Tech
operates classes four nights a
week, Monday through Thurs
day, with classes being taught
from 7 p.m. to 10:10 pm. Typi
cal courses offered in the Even
ing Program are Business Edu
cation, Data Processing, Com
puter Programming, Electron
ics, Drafting, Machine Shop,
Heating and Air Conditioning,
Welding, Auto Body Repair and
Nurses’ Aide.
