DEAR POLLY—I want to tell other
teen-agers that a rack intended for
hanging kitchen utensils is great to
hang on your wall or closet door to hold
scarves. Hang them on the rack's indi
vidual hooks. They'll stay neat and
always easy to find.—MICHELE

DEAR POLLY—I often make shakes in
my blender and have found that if I put
the glass container under the hot water
for a bit the ice cream comes out much
easier and the blender is easier to
clean, too. —K. B.

DEAR POLLY —One evening just be
fore company arrived, I discovered that
my three-year-old had set a glass of
milk on the coffee table without a
coaster under it. When removing the
glass I found it had left a white ring
on the wood. I set a glass candlestick
holder with a flat round base over the
ring. About an hour later someone
moved the candle holder, and the ring
was gone! Since then I have had the
same thing happen many times and
have used an inverted glass, coffee cup
or plate. All worked fine. All air is
blocked out, the moisture leaves the
wood and the ring disappears.—MßS.

DEAR POLLY—When putting sweat
ers away, roll them instead of folding,
and then store in plastic bags. They
stay free of dust and don't wrinkle.—

DEAR POLLY —After finishing a can of
paint, save the lid and cut it in half.
After opening a new can of paint the
same size, put this half-lid on the new
can. As you paint, wipe the paint brush
on that half instead of on the side of
the can. This keeps paint from accumu
lating in the ridge of the paint can.—

DEAR POLLY—To perk-up shabby
wood floors I add a small amount of
brown paste wax to floor paste wax and
work it in well. Allow to dry, then buff
and add a fairly permanent and rich
glow to your floors.—M. T.

DEAR POLLY—I have to take my
eight-month-old baby to the laundro
mat and cannot take a friend along to
hold her, as she refuses to allow any
one to do this but me. Now I place
her, sitting up, in my laundry basket
which I put in the laundry cart so I can
move it wherever I go, and also be
sure the basket does not turn over. She
plays with the toys I put in the basket
and I am able to get my wash done.
Before she could sit up I padded the
basket and laid her down in it.—MRS.

DEAR POLLY—My little daughter's
lunch box was constantly coming open
and her lunch would fall out. The box
was too good to throw away, but she
suggested that we try locking it with
a safety pin. It worked perfectly! Just
close the fastener and put the pin
through the tiny hole as a lock.—RUTH
