Dr. Pertuit speaks
to Marie Fort Club
The November meeting of the
Marie Fort Garden Club was
held at the home of Mrs. Taylor
Manley.
Dr. Al Pertuit of the Georgia
Experiment Station gave the
program. He demonstrated how
to make and care for terrarium,
a small indoor garden. Mrs.
Billy Peeples won the terrarium
as a door prize.
Mrs. Ivey Burson and Mrs. W.
V. Smith were guests.
Mrs. William Wood was
welcomed back to the club as a
member.
Dogwood Garden Club
has sharing program
Mrs. Dan Boyd was in charge
of the sharing program at the
November meeting of the
Dogwood Garden Club.
The members shared
Christmas bazaar ideas and
projects.
The meeting was held at the
home of Mrs. Jim Owens. Mrs.
George Thomas, president,
presided.

Mrs. Peeples gave the
treasurer’s report and Mrs.
Robert Sherliza gave the secre
tary’s report.
Mrs. Dick Slade reported the
Christmas party would be Dec.
5 at Eleven Acres.
A nominating committee was
picked. Members are Mrs.
Mark Kapiloff, Mrs. Arthur
Krepps, Mrs. John Ryan, Mrs.
Billy Peeples and Mrs. William
Hewitt.
Refreshments were served
after the president, Mrs. Ryan,
adjourned the business meet
ing.
members for participating in
the flower show and displayed
the Louise Mathis Trophy,
which the club won for having
the most horticultural points.
Mrs. Coleman Jackson gave a
report on the flower show and
passed out ribbons.
Mrs. Carl Cartledge was
welcomed as a new member.
A dessert course was served
to the 16 members present.
Zetella
Woman’s Club
has meet
The Zetella Woman’s Club
met at the home of Mrs. Lynn
Jenkins on the Newnan highway
for the November meeting.
Mrs. Ava Bolton, president,
presided. Mrs. Louise Mixon
was in charge of the devotional
and talked on the meaning of a
Christian Thanksgiving.
The secretary and treasurer’s
reports were given by Mrs.
Ruth Stringer.
Each member brought
Christmas patterns, gifts and
arrangements to exchange
ideas for Christmas
decorations.
During the meeting a project
for the community on Christ
mas door decorations were
discussed.
Eleven members and two
visitors, Mrs. Carole Bryant
and Mrs. Marcia Phillips were
present.
Members of the club and their
husbands will be entertained
with a Christmas party at
Eleven Acres in December.
Following the meeting,
refreshments were served by
the hostess.
Gleaners Class
has meeting
The Gleaners Class of Faith
Baptist Church met at the home
of the new president, Mrs.
Marjoree Horton for the month
ly meeting.
Mrs. Horton welcomed the
group and recognized the new
pastor’s wife, Mrs. Mary Boyce.
Mrs. Ruth Huggins led the
group in prayer.
The class will hold a Christ
mas party Dec. 9 at the church.
During the business session,
the group voted to buy a gift for
a shut-in. Fruit baskets will be
given to the elderly and shut-ins
for Thanksgiving and Christ
mas.
The class voted to give an
offering to the former pastor,
Richard Lee to help buy New
Testaments to be sent to Jamica
where Rev. Lee and his wife will
be missionaries.
The class will have family
night and a covered dish supper
at the church every third
month.
Eight members and two
visitors, Mrs. Mary Boyce and
Miss Donna Huggins were
present.
Heather Daniel
celebrates
3rd birthday
Heather Hope Daniel,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Tommy Daniel, celebrated her
third birthday with a party
Saturday.
Cake, ice cream, chips and
punch were served. Party
favors were given to the
children.

Driver, Candy Babcock, Phyllis
Ellis, Carl Touchstone, Terry
Dewberry, Wesley Cadendair
and John Babcock.

Wesleyan
WMS meets
The First Wesleyan WMS met
at the home of Mrs. Alice
Standard for the monthly
meeting. Mrs. Eula Pledger
opened the meeting with
prayer.
Mrs. Standard presided
during the business session. A
Christmas project was planned.
Mrs. Jackie Martin presented
the program on “Thanks
giving”.
Mrs. Carol Wilson was
welcomed as a new member.
Mrs. Joann Keever closed the
meeting with prayer.
Refreshments were served to
the eight members present.
Miss Janis Alexander assisted
the hostess.
