would be ready soon for
prospective package store
operators. But Morgan said no
licenses would be issued before
the first of next year.
He said the state has said it
would not issue any until then.
Morgan said it sometimes
takes the state up to 30 days to
screen an applicant for a
package license. In view of that
it may be late January or early
February before any are issued
here he said.
The County Commissioners
are not making any moves on
pouring license regulations or
fees until they get the results of
the Dec. 20 referendum.
Morgan said it’s possible the
commissioners could have
pouring regulations drawn up
shortly after the vote, should
the vote be for the license.
But the County Com
missioners said they would not
make any policy statements or
take other action on pouring
licenses before the referendum.
Morgan said in addition to the
county $2,000 license and 80 cent
tax, there is a SIOO state license
and a $2,500 bond required by
state law.
The City Commissioners
continue to work on a local
