The Gas Savers
Because of the lower rolling resistance of Michelin "X" radials over conventional bias-ply tires, you might get
as much as 10% savings over your present gas consumption. This means more miles per gallon of gas. It
means extra dollars in your pocket. -

The Travelers have seen
some strong pitching from Ken
Strickland, Phillip Sisk, Ronald
Royal, and Johnny Kitchens
and some clutch hitting in
beating Gordon Junior College
and the Jackson Golden Hawks.
Eddie Bethune, Steve Jinks, Joe
Grubbs, Gary Pugh, and
Tommy Lynch have all supplied
power for manager Turner
Davis’ squad.
Clayton County is a new club
in the Stan Musial League, but
is picked as a top contender in
the Tubby Walton League in its
expansion season. The Clayton
Countians picked up several
players, who played with league
champion Buckhead a year ago.
Buckhead not only won the
league championship in 1973,
but finished third in the Stan
Musial World Series. So the
regulars picked up by Clayton
County has to make that team
one to be reckoned with.
Game time Saturday after
noon is 3 o’clock at City Park.
The Travelers will be on the
road for another exhibition
contest Sunday afternoon, as
they go to Jackson for a
rematch with the Golden
Hawks. The Travelers came
from behind twice last Sunday
to edge Jackson, the defending
champions of the Middle
Georgia Baseball League, 7—5.
The Golden Hawks went
through the 1973 season un
defeated, and will be looking to
avenge last weekend’s loss Sun
day afternoon when they host
the Dundee Travelers.
