Henry Coleman Jackson 111
graduated from West Georgia
College at winter quarter
commencement with a degree
in economics. He was also

of Georgia. He is a junior and is
majoring in history and
economics.

Steven Wayne Harris, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Robert D. Harris
of Griffin, recently completed
requirements for his B.S.
degree with a biology major in
the pre-med program with
North Georgia College at
Dahlonega. Commencement
exercises will be held in June.
He and his wife, the former
Miss Karla Biles, are presently
residing in Griffin.

Nan Powers recently par
ticipated in the three-set
comedy, “See How They Run”
presented by the Shorter
players of Shorter College in
Rome. Miss Powers is a
sophomore majoring in speech
at Shorter and is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Henry J. Powers.

Jack Clinton Smith of Griffin
has been named to the winter
quarter dean’s list at Clayton
Junior College.

James Mark Howard of
Griffin, a sophomore at Georgia
Southern College, has been
named to the dean’s list for the
winter quarter. He is the son of
Mr. and Mrs. J. Floyd Howard.
RHONDA HEATON
Rhonda Heaton, a sophomore
home economics major from
Griffin, will be representing the
Compass Club in the sixth
annual TABAC Beauty Revue
April 4 during the college’s
homecoming activities. Miss
Heaton, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Evan Kell Heaton, is a
graduate of Griffin High School.
At ABAC, her activities in
clude: Compass Club, projects
committee chairman and Home
Economics Club.

Christie A. Pullin of Griffin
has been named to the winter
quarter dean’s list at West

James A. Fountain has been
named to the dean’s list for the
winter quarter at Georgia
Southern. He is a member of the
senior class.

Janice Cobb Mullis has been
named to the dean’s list with a
4.0 average at Valdosta State
College. She is a senior and will
graduate in June with a
bachelor of science degree in
nursing. She is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Cobb.

‘Welfare’
house raided
NEW YORK (UPI) - Police
who raided the house of a
Bronx family receiving $16,800
a year in welfare payments
said Friday that they found:
—550,000 worth of furnishngs
including six color television
sets.
—sloo,ooo worth of heroin,
cocaine, and drugs, and policy
slips indicating a $5,000 to
$7,000 weekly business.
Capt. Thomas O’Connell,
commander of the Bronx
Narcotics Squad, said officers
also recovered a .22 pistol and
a .38 service revolver, stolen a
year ago from a police locker
room.
None of the family resisted
arrest, but one policeman was
bitten by the dog.
