Indigent
letter
mailed
O. M. Snider, Jr., chairman of
the Griffin-Spalding County
Hospital Authority and Jack
Moss, chairman, Spalding
County Commissioners, have
sent a letter to officials of
surrounding counties asking
that a financial agreement be
secured from the counties to
cover the medical care of their
indigent residents who come to
the Griffin-Spalding Hospital
for treatment.
The letter stated that an
analysis made of the indigent
patients admitted to the

showed the cost was borne by
Spalding County.
It continued that in order for
everyone to receive good
medical care, a cooperative and
general effort is inevitable and
that they, as public officials,
“must share in your obligation
as it applies to your con
stituents.”
The letter was sent to J. M.
King, chairman, Pike County
Board of Commissioners;
Alfred D. Fears, chairman of
the Butts County Board; Gus M.
