Guard didn’t d nibt sh e’d shot .
SAN FRANCISCO (UPI) - A
guard who witnessed Monday's
daring bank robbery by the
Symbionese Liberation Army
says newspaper heiress Pa
tricia Hearst left little doubt
.she would use her gun, despite
reports she appeared reluctant.
His eyewitness report ap
peared to conflict with state
ments by the FBI that Miss
Hearst may have been forced
to take part in the robbery. The
FBI reports were based on
photographs taken by hidden
bank cameras.
The bank guard, Edward
Shea, G 6, told UPI that Miss
Hearst “was pretty wild, giving
out vindictives and orders and
all that, say ing she would shoot
the first guy that moved,
calling everybody an . . . and
everything else.”
“There was no doubt in my
mind she would shoot,” Shea
said in an interview with KRON
television. Asked why, he said,
“It was her .stance. Her
position. It was so, uh, so
tough. 1 beard her say she
would shoot the first . . . that
moved or did anything out of
line.”
Miss Hearst wgs dragged
from her apartment on Feb. 4
and her captors, members of
the Symbionese Liberation
Army, demanded a massive
food giveaway program by
Miss Hearst’s father, Randolph
V.'. H-arst, president and editor
of the San Francisco Examiner,
