Kissingers returning
SAN JUAN, P.R. (UPI) — Secretary of State Henry A.
Kissinger and his wife Nancy have ended several days of
swimming, reading and relaxing at an exclusive
hideaway on the Virgin Islands.
The couple were preparing to return to Washington
Wednesday after spending a five-day vacation at the
Caneel Bay Plantation resort on the U.S. Virgin Island of
St. John, according to aide David Gompert.
They were housed in secluded Cottage Seven, which has
also been a vacation retreat for former President Richard
M. Nixon, former Vice Presidents Spiro T. Agnew and
Hubert H. Humphrey and Vice Presidentdesignate Nelson
A. Rockefeller.
Ms, Follett upset
WHARTON, N.J. (UPI) - The brass didn’t take kindly
to the fact Army nurse Mary Lou Follett was living with
her boyfriend, she says.
Ms. Follett, 22, was denied a promotion, quit her job,
and is now letting the world know she doesn’t like it.
“I wouldn’t recommend anyone going into the Army,”
said Ms. Follett, daughter of a retired Army major. “I’m
glad to be out.”
The former lieutenant claimed she was “harassed”
while stationed in Germany and denied a promotion
because she defied military regulations by living with her
boy friend, Pfc. James C. Johnson of Alta Loma, Calif.
She quit in a huff last July and was processed out of the
Army Tuesday at Fort Dix, N.J.
Karl vs. Miller
SANTA MONICA, Calif. (UPI) — Shoe magnate Harry
Karl filed a |2 million damage suit in Superior Court
Wednesday against millionaire industrialist Sam Miller
over a brawl at the exclusive Friars Club in Beverly Hills.
Karl said in the suit that the fight occurred at the club
last July 26, resulting in injuries to Karl’s right arm which
required “numerous operations and skin grafts.”
Karl, formerly married to actress Debbie Reynolds, re
cently sold his chain of shoe stores which still bear his
name.
New faces
By United Press International
The 1975 General Assembly
will truly be a “new look” leg
islature. Runoff results made
sure of that.
Twenty incumbents had run
off opposition Tuesday— and
’ 16 of them lost. The “names”

close ally of Gov. Jimmy Car
ter and an advocate of local
f option taxation.
These House incumbents lost:
