DEAR POLLY - ,The cut-off bottom
of a cardboard box is great to use
for holding a pet's food dishes.
They are not moved about by the
pet and the mess is kept off the
floor. - SYLVIA.

DEAR POLLY — Bothered with the
hems creeping up when you walk?
Try taping some change (nickles,
pennies or whatever is needed for
weight) to the inside of the hem.
Change for parking meter or tele
phone is at hand and the "hem
money" can be replaced. —
DEAR POLLY — Disposable
plastic cups are great for holding
gelatin desserts and puddings.
Many lids from other glasses and
refrigerator containers fit snugly on
them, making them spillproof in the
refrigerator or on picnics. - JAN.
DEAR POLLY —My Pointer is for
those (and I am sure there arfe
many) who have trouble with the
plastic bags popcorn, rice
macaroni etc., come in. I always
save and Wash the cans those new
tangled potato chips come in and
use them for storing the above
samples. - MRS. W.N.

DEAR POLLY — When making a
pie with a double crust I roil out the
top crust, cut several holes in it
with a thimble, remove and set
these circles aside. When the crust
is put on the unbaked pie, rounds
are put back in the holes. This
makes a decorative top crust and
the steam comes out around the
circles. — MRS. C.L.
DEAR POLLY — I have made my
own spot remover for washable
clothes by putting one-third water,
one-third of a good dishwashing
detergent and one-third ammonia in
a bottle. Just shake and use. This is
especially good for grimy shirt col
lars and cues. - MRS. D.L.
DEAR POLLY — When wallpaper
ing, place the paper over the light
switch, heating vent and other
openings. Trace, in pencil, all these
areas. Then cut out the marked
sections very carefully. This makes
♦or A heat job. - SUZAN.
