Second-Season details are the top item on the agenda as
|| owners of World Football League teams continue a
■| meeting at Memphis today.
Another topic is television coverage of the coming
season. So far, no contract has been signed and officials
say the amount of coverage may depend on whether Joe
1 Namath jumps leagues.
A spokesman for TVS which broadcast the WFL’s first
|| season says advertisers would like to see Namath a
member of the league. The spokesman says if Namath
fails to accept a four-million dollar offer then the
advertisers would consider the league less than ironclad.
| League president Chris Hemmeter says he is confident
his plan for continuing the league will work. Hemmeter
| says if the league is properly administered, it cannot fail.

John Newcombe at Las Vegas.
500
Richard Petty is in the winner’s circle again.
Pretty pushed his dodge to a first place finish yesterday
at Martinsville, Va., in the Virginia 500. It was the stock

g hour. Darrell Waltrip finished second and Cale
g Yarborough was third.
