Northgate had eight runs on
five hits and made two errors.
Imperial Homes made two runs
on six hits and committed three
errors.
Joey McGee was Northgate’s
winning pitcher. He struck out
eight and walked one. Ricky
Tucker was Imperial’s loser. He
struck out six and walked 10.

The Atlanta Constitution says the Philadelphia Phillies J
have blocked a proposed trade between the Atlanta <
Braves and the New York Yankees involving Dick Allen.
The newspaper quotes informed sources as saying the
deal fell through when Philadelphia refused to let Allen go <
on waivers.
Under baseball rules, the Braves now must wait 30 days
before placing Allen on Waivers again. But Philadelphia
General Manager Paul Owens has indicated his club will
again claim the slugger.

The Los Angeles Dodgers trailed the Atlanta Braves 3-0
after five innings in National League action last night in
Los Angeles. But at game’s end it was Los Angeles 4,
Atlanta 3.
And Jimmy Wynn who scored the tying run gives the
credit to the Dodger bench.
Says Wynn, “There’s no team in the National League
that can match our bench.”
Dodger Manager Walter Alston used 16 playas in
turning the game around.

Georgia’s Mike Keepers pitched only an inning and a
half yesterday at Knoxville, Tennessee. But he was
awarded the win when the Bulldogs downed Tennessee 9-6
in Southeastern Conference baseball action.
The squads meet again today for a double header to
decide the S.E.C. Eastern Division Championship.
Georgia leaped ahead in the second inning with four
runs on four hits then added another in the top of the third.
The win gives Georgia an 18-10 overall season record
and a 9-3 in the league. Tennessee is 25-12 overall and 6-4
in the S.E.C.
