will meet Sunday at 6 p.m. at
the parish of St. Stephens
Episcopal Church on North

Fayette
Church sets
team visit
A youth ministry team from
the Georgia Baptist Student
Union will be at Glen Grove
Baptist Church July 25-27 to
direct fellowship, recreational
activities, religious folk music
and sacred music.
The church is south of
Fayetteville on Highway 85.
Rebecca Gillian of Doraville,
Mercer in Atlanta; Bill Hut
cheson of Macon, Mercer
University; Keith Nelms, of
Sylvester, Georgia Tech; and
Joan Williams of Milledgeville,
Georgia Southern, will make up
the team.
Sessions will begin July 25 at
7:30 p.m. and conclude with the
11 a.m. worship service July 27.
The pastor of the church is the
Rev. Riley N. Bomar.
The teams are visiting
churches as part of the celebra
tion of the 50th anniversary of
the Georgia Baptists’ student
work.

Mr. Jenkins
Mr. John Walter Jenkins, 43,
of Route One, West Mclntosh
road, was dead on arrival at the
Griffin-Spalding Hospital early
this morning.
Mr. Jenkins was a native of
Clayton County moving to
Griffin three years ago from
Riverdale. He was employed at
Tenneco Oil Co., on North
Expressway.
Survivors include his wife,
Mrs. Christine Meadows
Jenkins; two daughters, Miss
Debra Lee Jenkins and Miss
Tisa Christine Jenkins; three
sons, John Mark Jenkins,
James Lance Jenkins and
Wesley Clay Jenkins, all of
Griffin; mother, Mrs. Emma
Lee Chaffin of Austell; two
sisters, Mrs. W. C. Lanford of
Austell and Mrs. Virgil
Brownlee of Macon.
The funeral will be conducted
Friday a Afternoon at 3 o’clock
in Haisten’s chapel. The Rev.
Bobby Watts will officiate.
Burial will be in the Mt. Har
mony Baptist Church cemetery
near Austell. The body will
remain at Haisten Funeral
Home.
Mrs. Glasgow
Mrs. Charles Spears
Glasgow, Sr., of Lexington, Va.,
died Wednesday after a lengthy
illness.
Mrs. Glasgow is survived by a
son, Charles S. Glasgow, Jr., of
Charles S. Glasgow, Jr., of
Griffin; a daughter, Mrs. Conde
Crittenden of Birmingham,
Ala.; and six grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted
Friday afternoon in Lexington.
In lieu of flowers those desiring
may make contributions to the
R.E. Lee Memorial Episcopal
Church in Lexington.

Paul Taine, a Jew from
Australia, will speak to the Full
Gospel Business Men’s Fellow
ship Saturday night at the
Griffin Christian School. The
program will begin at 7:30.
Stolen car
found here
A 1969 Chevrolet Impala
which had been stolen in East
Point was found parked in the
Big Apple parking lot in Griffin.
Police officers Edmond
Mullins and Mike Brooks were
on routine patrol and noticed
the vehicle. They ran a tag che
ck through the National Crime
Information Center computer
and found that the vehicle had
been stolen.
No arrests were made in
connection with the auto.
Two accused
of thefts
Two 18-year-olds have been
charged with theft by taking
after more than $64 worth of
records, allegedly stolen from
Woolworth’s were found in their
possession.
They were identified as
Bobby Willis, 547 North Sixth
street, and J. C. Moreland, 525
McKneely street.
Officer John Sikes found the
youths with the records and
made the arrests.
