full season as the Falcon coach
after last year’s disastrous 3-11
record, took his first look at his
veterans Tuesday and liked
what he saw.
“It looks like everyone
reported in fine physical
condition and I couldn’t believe
how much we accomplished in
one day,” he said.
“They turned it on and I was
especially impressed in the way
Dave Hampton busted it out
there.”
Hampton, bothered by inju
ries much of last season, ran
well as did fullback Eddie Ray,
who reported 13 pounds under
his 1974 playing weight. Camp
bell said he was also impressed
with the veteran receiving
corps, including Ken Burrow,
Jim Mitchell, Gerald Tinker, Al
Dodd, Larry Mialik, Tom
Geredine and Francis Wallace.
The Falcons signed former
University of Miami fullback
Tom Smith Tuesday, boosting
the number of runningbacks in
camp to 13.

Hendricks will not
stay in Green Bay
GREEN BAY, Wis. (UPI) -
Ted Hendricks will not—repeat

Packers this year.
Months of speculation ended
Tuesday when the former All-
Pro linebacker and his agent,
Tony Roberts, met with Bob
Harlan, assistant general
manager of the Packers, and
Fred Trowbridge, an attorney
and member of the Packers’
executive committee.
“There’s no doubt whatsoever
that Ted won’t be back here
this year,” Hendricks’ agent
said. “Barring some spec
tac'ilar, miraculous feat that
simply isn’t going to happen,
it’s all over.”
Harlan said, “We made an
offer and he rejected it.”
The issue, apparently, did not
concern money.
“We didn’t even get far
enough to discuss the money,
though they did make an
offer,” Roberts said.
“We wanted some sort of
insurance against injury and
couldn’t get it. We did not go in
