The marriage of Miss Kathy
Darlene Lynch to Mr. David
Randall Young “was solemnized
at the First Baptist Church of
Griffin. The Rev. Brady Blalock
performed the double ring cere
mony.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Joe W. Lynch of
Griffin. The groom is the son of
Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Young of
Jonesboro.
Mr. G. W. Young served as his
son’s best man. Ushers were
Mr. Steve Lynch and Mr. Greg
Lynch, brothers of the bride;
Mr. Steve Young and Mr. Tracy
Young, brothers of the groom,
and Mr. David Smith.
Ringbearer was Davey
Childs.
Little Miss Stacey Lynch was
flower girl.
Mrs. Teresa Lynch, sister-in
law of the bride, served as
matron of honor. Bridesmaids
were Miss Kristie Lynch, sister
of the bride; Miss Judy Griffin,
Miss Diane Killingsworth and
Mrs. Terri Huddleston, all of
Griffin and Mrs. Vickie Chris
tian of Atlanta.

his parents at the City Park.
Pictures were taken and
party hats and favors were

prizes won by Chris Jones and
Michelle Morris. Cake, ice
cream and Kool-aide were
served to the following:

and carried nosegay bouquets
of blue, yellow and pink carna
tions tied with yellow
streamers.
The bride, given in marriage
by her father, wore a gown of
white polyester organza. The
gown featured a chantilly lace
yoke accented with chantilly
lace on the cuffs and at neck
line. Her veil was attached to a
crown covered with chantilly
lace and seed pearls featuring a
long mantilla veil edged with
chantilly lace. She carried a
bouquet of yellow sweetheart
roses with lily of the valley and
long yellow streamers made of
lace edged ribbon tied in love
knots.
The candles were lit by Steve
Lynch and Steve Young.
Miss Angie Norsworthy,
soloist, was accompanied on the
organ by Mrs. Grace Scholl.
A reception was held in the
Cheatham auditorium following
the ceremony.

graduate of Griffin High School
and a 1975 graduate of Gordon
Junior College. She is presently
employed with the Credit
Bureau of Griffin.
Mr. Childs’ maternal grand
parents are Mr. and Mrs. E. H.
of Griffin and his pater
nal grandparents are Mr. and
Mrs. A. H. Childs of Griffin.
He is a 1972 graduate of
Griffin High School and at

August 2, at the home of the
bride in Griffin.
The ceremony was performed
by the Rev. Bruce M. Morgan,
pastor of First Baptist Church.
The ceremony and reception
took place in a wooded section
of the garden at the home.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Len Stuckey
Jones. Mr. LaMee is the son of
Mr. and Mrs. Clyde E. LaMee
of Vero Beach, Fla.
The bride chose her sister,
Miss Susan Jones as maid of

Burris of Danville, 111. His sister
is Mrs. Arlene delMazo of
Lilburn, Ga. and his brothers
are Mr. John M. Burris of
Jonesboro and Mr. Michael L.
Burris of Orlando, Fla.
He attended Milner High
Schbol in Milner. Sgt. Burris is
serving in the U. S. Army,
stationed at Fort Eustis,
Virginia.
The wedding is planned for
September 7 at 2 p.m. at the
First Baptist Church in Barnes
ville. A reception will be held in
Mr. Clyde E. LaMee was his
son’s best man. Ushers were
Mr. Clyde L. LaMee, brother
of the groom, and Mr. Robert
Len Jones, brother of the bride.

Mr. and Mrs. LaMee are
residing in Atlanta.
The bride, given in marriage
by her father, wore a wedding
gown of white silk with silk
organza overlay. The gown was
styled with a Victorian neckline
of Venice lace embroidered
with seed pearls and crystal
beads. The princess style skirt
featured cascade of Venise lace
down the center front extending
around the self-attached silk
organza train. The train had
pearl embroidered lace ap
pliques. Her veil of white bridal
tulle was attached to a Juliet
cap of the same Venise lace
embroidered with seed pearls.
The bride’s bouquet was white
carnations, lily of the valley
with pink rosebuds.
Following the wedding, a
reception was held in the fellow
ship hall of the church.

Strickland, cousin of the bride;
Miss Cathy Noel, cousin of the
bride, Miss Suzanne Ott, sister
of the groom, Miss Renee
Mr. Bates’ maternal grand
parents are the late Mr. and
Mrs. Judge Biles. His paternal

John Douglas Bates, Sr. and the
late Mrs. Laura Quick.
He is a 1975 graduate of
Griffin High School. Mr. Bates
is employed with Pike County
Public Work Camp.

September 12 at 7:30 p.m. at
Fairview Baptist Church in
Brooks.
