I Fight
I crime
Almost everyone carries a purse or
wallet, and most people “know” how to
keep them safe. Yet these items are
reported lost, stolen, or “picked” every
I day. Here are some ways you can
protect your belongings.
The safest way to carry a purse is
under your arm, and gripped securely
in one hand. A wallet is safer in an
inside pocket, rather than the back
pants pocket or outside coat pocket.
Keep keys easily accessible, so that
you don’t have to take other items out of
i your purse or pocket to locate them.
Keep your puse and wallet closed when
not in use, and don’t display credit
cards or rolls of money when paying for
something.
I( Never lay your purse, wallet, or
credit cards on the seat beside you
when you drive, as they’re easy targets
when you stop. If you refuse to offer
g temptations to potential thieves, you’ll
I find you’re protecting yourself as well.
This tip provided by ACT Against
Crime Together, statewide crime
prevention program of the Georgia
Bureau of Investigation.
