building. It will be at South Sixth and Poplar streets with a

37th Field Artillery in
Herzogenaurach, Germany.
PFC Head is a mechanic with
Service Batery of the field
artillery’s 3rd Battalion.
He entered the Army in July,
1976.

Scholastic bowl winners
to get restaurant treat
Winning teams in the Griffin-
Spalding Scholastic Bowl will be
treated to a meal in a local
restaurant for their efforts.
Students in the ninth and 10th
grades participated.
Winners on the 10th grade
team included Angie
Strickland, Dawn Deßendittis,
Ronald Dowdy and Buddy
Thrasher.
The winning ninth grade team
included Leanne Morrow, Andy
Musser, Brett Mills, and Fred
Merritt.
The SAGE Club at Griffin
High arranged for the meals to
be awarded the winners.
Seven Program Challenge
students assisted in organizing
the event. They were Nathan
Mark Jones, Wayne
Scudder, Michael Gray, Jim
Drake, Tim Burke, and Janet
Drake.
The Griffin winners will
compete with other schools
April 16 at Georgia
Family day
at Mt. Zion
Members of the Mount Zion
Baptist Church will observe
their annual Family Day
services Sunday.
The Rev. M. L. Raglin, pastor
of the First Corinth Baptist
Church, will deliver the sermon
for the 11 a.m. services.
The observance is sponsored
by the Mt. Zion Baptist Training
Union.
Each family has been asked
to bring a covered dish for the
church family meal to be served
in the fellowship hall following
the morning services.
For the second year, football
superstar, Rayfield Wright, of
the Dallas Cowboy and Mount
Zion member, will provide the
meats for the meal.
