The undersigned, Committee of Arrange- Bients, to make preparations for the enter tainment of our distinguished Guest, short ly expected, beg leave to inform the sub scribers to the contemplated entertainment, that Tickets of admission will be ready for delivery, at the otficc of William T. Wil liams, Esq. on and after Thursday next: where all, who have subscribed, will re ceive their Tickets of admission, and at w hich place the subscription list is left open for all residents of Savannah, or strangers, who may now be here, or hereafter arrive, to come forward and subscribe. Col. Warren lost a log at the seigo of Savannah. Pre vious to their adjournment, tho Congress- invested the President, with powers of a na ture so comprehensive, “that they could be compared only to those of an absolute monarch.” Many conjectures were ofcour.se formed. It was said by some that it was to be attributed to the suspicious move ments of General Sant ana, in the province of Yucatan—to the tear of an invasion,&c. but. nothing certain was known. Mr. Lionel IIervey, the principal com missioner from his Britannic Majesty, to the Mexican government, left, tliu capital on tiie luth ultimo, on his return to Eng land. On two occasions, recently, the manager was compelled with a respectable company, and a good entertainment., to dose the doors for the want of an audience. Upon the whole, the sp. ech of the American President would repay the most studied and profound attf n- tion ; arid, as we have already hinted, might betaken as a useful model for great per sonages in oilier parts of the world, when tlmy profess to enlighten their subjects by a Royal view of the national interests und concerns.
