Bordeaux, during the month uf January, from
imprudent exposure on deck, I was seised
with a violent fever. Having no medical at

it, as 1 m'-ght for two weeks, when on my ar-
lival at Charleston, S. C. it was treated as

able. Various abscesses made their unwel
come appearance, particularly on the junta,

one of which on my left knee affected toe

took place. In addition to this, I suffered die

administered either gave me no relief or ser
