Dea: Sir—You expressed a wish that would give a concise statement cf my suffer ings, from ' the hopeless commencement, the present propitious stage of my disease About five years ago, on toy passage fron. Bordeaux, during the month of January, from imprudent exposure on deck, l was seized with a violent fever. Having no medical at tendants on board, I was compelled to bear it, as 1 ought for two weeks, when on my ar< iival at Charleston, S. C. it was treated as Typhus. The skill of my Physician subdue* the fever, but P .cenix*like, the termination of this gave ria to a disease equally distags* •ng, an<< which, tiil now, I had tuought incur -ble. V inous abscesses made tbei uawel come appearance, particularly on the joints, which were *we led to an enormous size.— These gradually subsided into hard tumorsj one of which on my left knee affected the bone—an incision was now made and a large evacuation ofnus, mixed with pieces of bone took place. In addition to this, I suffered the most excruciating pains in my joints tilbt man ever experienced. Every thing that was administered either gave me no relief >r ser ved <o aggravate the disease, the severity cf wh'n h increased with every succeeding year. As it is not the wish of the proprietor to take any thing for which he cannot give u consideration equal in va!ue ; persons at a distance who may wi9h to try his medicine, but who are not certain if it be applicoble to their complaint, sre request ed to describe their case and symptoms in u tetter, post-paid, and directed to him—this letter will bj immediately placed in hands fully competent to decide the question.— Should he remedy not seem (o suit the dis ease, they will be frjinkly told so.
