Mav 6 i- 7 MEDICAL RECORDER, No. ao. I H just.received and ready for dolivery, at the Book-Store of W. T. WILLI AMS, where subscribers to said work will be re, ceived. From the Boston Medical Intelligencer. THE medical recorder. A iTorire to extend a knowledge, among our professional brethren, of the merits of this highly valuuble publication, has induc ed us to bring this subject again before our readers. Since its first appearance, the Medical Recorder supported a high reputa tion, but when it came under the etipcrin- tendance of I ho present editor, Dr. Col- houn. a spirit was infused into its pages, which has given it a decided superiority over the multitude of those tame periodical works on medicine, which are continually teeming from the press, we can strongly re commend the Medical Recorder to the no tice of the profession, as one of the best public journals of medicine in the Union, It is published at Philadelphia, by Mr. James Webster. from the Frnhrirk-Tmtm Examiner. Without intending any disparagement to tins other periodical medical journals of our country, l will at present advert In but one. “ The Medical Reeonlcr." conducted by Dr. Colhnu i, and published Quarterly in Phila delphia, is a work entitled, not only to the patronage, but to the allentire pcrutal- of every physician and medical student in the United States. It is truly an independent work. Under the thraldom of no scholas tic dogma, and pledged to support no par ticular medical college to the prej dice of another, it is exempt from one of the most fatal circumstances which too often attend works of this description— the promulgation of error under the imposing influence of a respectable university. mvv 11 041 n - ut.um -Bagging. '• Remedy for the Riles, T HE Medicine now offered to the public is one which lias been fully subjected to the infallible test of experience; and in every instance where it has been fairly tri ed. it has been attended with the most com plete success. In some of the cases, the patients had been labouring under the dis ease for years, and during that period, had received the beat medical advice, and hud even undergone a painful surgical opera tion, without permanent advantage. It is not (like those usually advertisodj offered as a certain cure for a long catalogue of diseases, but those afflicted with this com plaint, for which alone it is recommended, may rely with confidence upon obtaining relief, even in its worst forms, in a Blnirt time ; and themselves are the host judges of the importance of such a remedy.
