Dear Sir—You expressed a wish that I
would give a concise statement of my auff.-r-
inga. from ‘ the hopeless comibeiicement, tn
the present propitious stage of my disease.’
About five yean ago, on my passage from
Bordeaux, during the month of January, from
imprudent exposure on deck, I waa seised
with a violent fever. Having no medical at
tendants on board, I waa compelled to hear
it, as I might for two weeks, when on my ar
rival at CharieMon, S. C. it was treated as
ryptras. Tbe skill of my rbysldan subdued
the fever, but Phanix-fike, the termination
of tbia gave rile to t disease equally diatrear-
iog, and which, till now, I had thnught incur,
able. Various abscesses made their unwel
come appearance, particularly on the joints,
which were swelled to an enormous size.—
These gradually subsided into bard tu-nora,
one of which on my left knee alfecied the
bone—an incision waa now made and a large
evacuation of out, mixed with pieers of hone
took place. In addition to thia, I suffered the
moM excruciatingpainsin my jointi that man
ever experienced. Every thing that was
administered either gave me no relief i-r ser
ved to aggravate the Jisesre, the severity of
whirh increased with every succeeding year.
Sur.h waa my painful ai-uation that I derpaire.1
of ever bciug restored to my heal h ; I had
not oulv tried the regular meant of relief,
but used, though in vain, every popular rem
edy I could beer of- It tree in thie awful and
detpund’ng condition,that I waa persuaded to
irammence a course of your Vegetable riath'l
iron, and the happy result is, 11 f om the use
of the two bottlre. my whole lyetfm hat under
gene a complete rrt'o iiiion, my paint hive fata,
ken metbe discharge from ipy knee begin
to dim-niab, and soo i ceased iltogether, tbe
ulcer from whence it proceeded being com
plelely healed. The turnon, for the removal
of which 1 have tried in vain more remedies
than 1 can name, are rapidly decreasing; my
appetite, which was gone, has returned—I an
in fact, nearly well, and feel confid.-at thM n
few bottlea more of ynur, (to me) invaluable
medicioe, will m-ke me penectiy so.

8ia—In consequence of imprudent expo*
ure four vears ago, I had tbe misfortune to be
come ifflxted with a disease, tbe painful re-
aultsof which induced me to apply in suc
cession to several respectable physicians of
this city, from whom, however, I received
either no rebel; or from whoee remedies I re
ceived another complaint quite ia diati easing
aa tbe former. My whole syatem became ef
fected. I could get no rest at night oo ac
count of the rioleet pain that I felt in every
part of my body; the weakneaa and enacts
two of which waa such that I could scarcely
walk. In thia Mate I fortunately heard of
your vegetable catholicon—four bottlea of
which, has completely restored me, I have
now no pain i my appetite is good; end my
strength restored With many thanks for
the relief your medicine baa given me, I am
your obliged friend, ite.

Sir—I am now, thanks to your medicine, a
hearty mar. Fur nearly aiz years I have been
a martyr to a disease, whole ravages threat,
ened, if not soon Mopped, to put a period to
a extMenoe. Haring had no regular aedi-
edvee from tbe commencement, my
complaint at last got to such t height that I
Muld not swallow without great pun and
difficulty. Tumors fonnrad in different parts
army body, and I began to think my aituMfon
ajmoat desperate. The five bottlea of the
Catholicon which I have taken have com
pletely cured me, and I am bow it well aa I
