Fetter, Dear Sir—You expressed s wish thst would give t concise statement of my suffer ings, from' the hopelcM commencement, to the present propitious stsge cf my disease ’ About five yesra ago, on my passage from Bordeaux, during the month of January, from Imprudent exposure on deck, I wu seised with a violent fever. Having no medical at tendants on board, I wm compelled to bear it, as I m-ght ter two weeka, when on my ar rival at Charleston, S. C- it wu treated aa Typhus. Tbe skill of my Physician subdued tbe fever, but Phoenix-like, the terminition of this gave risn to a disease equally distress ing, and which, till now, I had thought incur able. Various abscesses made their unwel come appearance, particularly on the joints, which were swelled to an enormous aixe.— These gradually subsided into hard tumura, one of whioh on my left knee affected the bone—an incision was now made and a large evacuation of pua, mixed with pieces of bone took place. In addition to this, I suffered the most escruciating painsin my joints that man ever experienced. Every thing that was administered either gave me no relief ■ r ser ved to sggravate the disease, the severity uf .which increased with every succeeding year. Such was my painful si 1 uatton that I despaired of ever being restored to my heal'h I Iliad not a-ily tried the regular means of relief, but used, though in vain, every popular rem edy 1 could hear of- It was in this awful and desponding condition, thst I wu persuaded to commence a course of your Vegetable Cath-il lean, and the happy result is, "f om the me of the two botllti. my -whole tytlem hat under gone a complete revo'ution, my ptttjte have fo in- Feu methe discharge from my knee began to dimmish, and soon cessed altogether, the ulcer from whence it proceeded being com pletely healed. The tumors, for the removal of which I hare tried in vain more remedies than I can name, are rapidly decreasing t my appetite, which was gone, lias returned—I am in fact, nearly well, and feel confident that few bottles more of ycur, (to me) invaluable medicine, will make me periectly to. Your obliged friend, THOMAS BROWN, JR. Philadelphia, July 36, 1874. My confidence in the vr getible catholicon is undiminishad, and as fresh in-iineca of its powers sru dtily occurring, in my own prac tice. I have no hesitation in recommending it, in the peculiar diseaiea to which it ia app Ii ca ble, aa superior to any remedy I am acquaint ed with, M. H’MURl HIE. M. D. Philadelphia, May 28,18 4 Sit-In consequence of imprudent expos ure four veirs ago I had the miafortune to be come afflicted with a uiaeaae, the painful re sults of which induced me to apply in auc- ceuion to several respectable physicians of this city, from whom, however, I received either no relief; ot from whole remedies I re- ceived another complaint quite u diatreMing aa the foreter. My whole ayatem became a feeted. I could get no rest at night on ac count of the violent pain that I felt in every part of my body; the weakneu end emaeia tion of which wu auch that I could scarcely walk. In this state I fortunately beard of your vegetable catholicon—four bottles of wbieh, hu completely restored me, I have now no pain i my appetite is good i and my atrangth restored With many thank* for the relief your medloine hu given me, 1 am your obliged friend, fce.
