Mr. \V W. Potter,
Dear Sir—You expressed a wii.h th»t I
would give a concise statement of my >' tt'. i

tbe present propitious stage of my disease.*
About five years ago, on my passage from
Bordeaux, during the month of January, from
imprudent exposure on deck, 1 w as seized
with a violent fever. Having no medical at
tendants on board, I was compehe l to bear
it, as I m*ght for two weeka, when on my ar
rival at Chsrfoston, S. C. it whs t ested as
Typhus. The sk-!l of my Physician subdm d
the fever, but Fbecnra-hke, tLe termination
of this gave ri»*=* to a disease equally distress

able. Various abacessca made thei r unwtl-

wt.ich were sweded to an enormous irze.-^-
i'hese gradually subsided into ha r d tumo.s,
one of which on my left knee affected t .c
bone—an incision was now made an-.; a l»r.<e
evacuation of mis, mixed with pircesof bone
took place. I » addition to thir, 1 /fried the
most escniciating pains in m • j dnts that man
ever exp?rien<'ed. Every ilirug that was
sdminnttred either gave me no relief * r ser
ved to aggravate the disease, the severity i f
which incr iasird wuh every succeeding year.
Such was *ny painful si uat'un that 1 de paire !
of ever being restored to my heal h ; 1 had
not only tried the regular means ot relief,
but used, though in vain, every popular rem*

of the hoo br ttlt s, my whole system has under
gone a complete revotttion. my ptuns have fo sa

ulcer from whence it proceeded bei? g com
ptetcly healed. The tumors, for the removal
of which 1 have tried ia vain more remedies
than 1 can name, arc rapidly decreasing ; my
app?tile, which was gone, has returned—I an
in fact, near') web. and feel confident that a
few bottles more of your, (to me) invaluable
medicine, will make me perfectly so.
Your oblig« d friend,
THOM AS BROWN, JR.
Philadelphia, July r 6, 18 .’4,
My confidence in the v%get *ble cathoheun
is undiminish-. 1, and aa fresh in tanses of its
powers ar« daily occurring, in my own prac

in tbe peculiar diseases to which it is wppfics-

Philadelphia, May 28.18 4
Sim—In consequence of imprudent expos
ure four vears ago, I had the misfortune to be
come ?ftlcted with a disease, the painful re*
suits ot which induced me to apply in suc
cession to several respectable physicians of
this city, from whom, .however, I received
either no relief or from #hose remedies I re
ceived another complaint quite ms distteasing
as the former. My whole system became a -
fected. 1 could get no rest at night on ac
count of the violent pain that I felt in every
part of my body / the weaknes* and emacia
tion cf which was such that I could scarcely
walk. In this state I fortunately heard cf
your vegetable catholicon—four bottles of
which, has completely restored me, I have
now no pain; my appetite ia good; and m>
strength restored With many thanks for
the relief your medicine hat given me, I am
your obliged friend, &c.

Philadelphia, May 28, 18?4.
Sir—I am now, thanks to your medicioe, a
hearty mat. For nearly six years I have been
a martyr to a disease, whose ravages threat
ened, if not soon stopped, to put a period to
my existence. Haring had no regular medi
cal advice from the commencement, my
complaint at last got to such a height that 1
could not aw allow without great pain and
difficulty* Tumors formed in different parts
of my body, and I began to think my situation
almost desperate. Tbe five bottles of tbe
Catholicon which I have taken have com
pletely cured me» and 1 am now well as 1
?ouM wish to be. With my thanks, am your
ihliged humble tervaiit, Wo
