Remedy for the Piles,
T HE Medicine now offered to the public
is one which hus been fully subjected
to the infallible test of experience; and in
every instance where it has been fairly tri
ed, it has been attended with the most com
plete euccess. In some of the cases, the
patients had bcOti labouring under the dis
ease for years, and during that period, had
received the beat medical advice, and had
even undergone a painful aurgical opera
tion, without permanent advantage. It is
not (like those usually advertised) offered
as a certain cure for a long catalogue of
diseases, but those afflicted with this com-
plsint, for which alone it is recommended,
may rely with confidence upon obtaining
relief, even in its worst forms, in a short
time; and themselves are the best judgfcs
of the importance of such a remedy. Price
50 cents per box, with directions 6ignod by

Facts are the beet arguments. In ordar to put
the virtues of the Catholicon to aa severe a
scrutiny as poaaible, it waa offered by adver-
tiiement, together with the attendance of a
physician, gratuitously to any -era-in who
would apply for it, and whose cause might
seem t" come within the range of ita healing

been cured, or so much relieved as to warrant
the assertion that a little peraeverance will do
so. In fact, such ia the confidence ofthe pbyai
cian under whose care these patients were
placed, in this remedy, a confide ice result
tng from the irresistible conviction that has
been forced upon his mind by ocular demon

Mr. W W. Potter,
Dear Sir—You expressed a wish that I
would give a concise statement of my suffer
ings, from' the nopelesa commencement, to
the present propitious stage of my dise.se.’
About five years ago, on my passage from
Bordeaux, during the month of January, from
imprudent exposure on deck, 1 waa seized
with a violent fever. Having no medical at
tendants on board, I waa compelled to bear
it, as I might for two weeks, when on my ar
rival at Charleston, S. C. it was treated as
Typhus. The skill of my Pbyiician subdued
tlic lever, but Pusuix-like, the termination
of this gave rile to a disease equally distress
ing, and which, till now, I had thought incur
able. Various abscesses made their unwel
come appearance, particularly on the joints,
which were swelled to ao enormous sixe.—
These gradually subsided into bi'd tumors,
one of which on my left knee affected the
bone—on incision was now made and a large
evacuation of pua, mixed with pieces of bone
took place, in addition to this, I suffered the
most excruciating pains in my joints that man
ever experienced. Every thing that wts
administered either gave me no relief or ser
ved to aggravate the disease, the severity of
which increased with every succeeding year.
Such was my painful ai uation that 1 despaired
of ever being restored to my heal h t I had
not only tried the regular means of relief,
but used, though in vain, every popular rem
edy 1 could hear of- It was in this aw fit! and
despondmg condition, that I waa persuaded to
commence a course of your Vegetable Csth I
icon, and the happy result is, “/ am the use
of the two h ail s my whole system has under
gone a complete revo utinn. my pains have fouu-
ken methe discharge from my knee began
to diminish, and soon ceased alloge'ber, the
ulcerfrom whence it proceeded being com
pletely healed. The tumors, for the removal
of which I have tried io vain more remedies
than I can name, are rapidly decreasing ; my
appetite, which waa gone, hta returned—I am
in fact, nearly well, and feel confident that a
few bottles more of yr.ur, (to me) invaluable
medicine, will make me per'ectly to.
Your obliged friend,
