calculated to promote the cause of truth and
piety It seems scarcely postible for one to
-cad daily the Notee and Observations in the
Family Bible without becnmhg a wiser and
better man. EDWARD D GRIFFIN.
I have seen no commentary of the Sacred
Soripture* which I think an well adapted to
general u«e and edification. It is a treasure
which every family ought to possess.

It is a work distinguished for the simplici
ty aud co: venience of its arrangemen', the
clesrnem and fi lelity of ita expositions, the
neatness and perspicuity of its style, Ihe oe-

ciseness and pertinency of its applications,
and for its uniform tendency to proTote evan
gelical truth 'ad piety.

I know of no Cuiumeidlry which is better
lalculatcd for difiusing correct views of tho
great truths of Cliristianity, and leaving salu-

ibout to publish.

No writer seems less disposed to contend
for barren spectduii.ms. None more uniform,
