Hear Sir—I think it my duty to inform you,
that after trying every tiling that cuuM be
pointed out by the most respecltble physi-

without sny success, who you know, has for
msny years been laboring under severe Rheu-

with a glimmering hope, that it might give
him some relief from the eicessive pain he
endured, which rendered bin s useless mem

my utter astonishment the relief was matin
tanrous, .nd by persevering in the use of the
Extract, his joints hive returned to their pro.

JMr. W- W. Potter,
Dear Sir—You expressed s wish that I
would give a concise statement of my soft er
ings. from • the hopeless commencement, te
tbe present propitious stage of my disease.’
About five years ago, on my passage from
Bordeaux, during the month of January, from
imprudent exposure on deck, I wit soiled
with n violent fever. Having no medical at'
tendantaon board, I wu compelled tn beai
it, as I might for two weeks, when on my ar-
rival at Charleston, 8, C. it wu treated ss
Typhus, The skill of my Physician subdued
the fever, but Phcsnix-like, the terminnfior
nf this gave risr to a disuse equally dint,ow
ing, sod which, till nuw, I bad tbuught incur
able. Various ibseeuei made their unwet
come appearance, particularly on the joints,
which were swelled to sn enormous vise.—
These gradually aubsided into hard tumors,
one of which on my left knee affected the
bone—sn incision was now made and a large
evacuation of pita, mixed with pieces of hone
tonk place. In addition to this, I suffered th-
most cacruoiating pains in my joints tiiai man
ever experienced. Every thing that wm
administered cither gave me no reliefer ser
ved lo aggravate the disease, the severity of
which increased with every succeeding year.
Such was my painful si uatiun that I despaired
of ever being restored to my hoalh) Iliad
not only tried the regular means of relief,
but used, though in vain, every popular rem
edy 1 cojld hear of- It was in this awful and
despnnd'ng condition,that I was persuaded to
..ommence a courae ofyuur Vegetable Ctlhal
icon, and the happy result is, “f om the ute
of the two bottleo, my whole system hat unilgr
gone a complete revolution, my paint have Jo- tu-
ke.i me,-” the discharge from my knee began
lo diminish, and soon ceased altogether, ihe
ulcerfrom whence it proceeded being com
pletety healed. Tlie tumors, for the removal
of which I have tried in vain more remedies
than I can name, are rapidly decreasing I my
appetite, which was gone, has returned—tan
in fact, nearly well, and feel confident that a
few bullies more nf your, (to me) invaluable
medicine, will make me pericctly so.
