Dear Sir—Yon expressed a wish that 1
would gives opnciac statement of my suffer-
ingf, from ’ the hopeless commencement, to
the present propitious stage of my disease '
About five years ego, on my passage from
Bordeaux, daring the mooth of January, from
imprudent exposure un deck, 1 was seised
With a violent fever. Having oo medical ax-
' tendants on hoard,) was compelled to bear
it, as I might for two weeks, when on my aw
rival at Charleston, S.C. U. was treated at
Typhus. The skill of mb Physician subdued
the feyer, but Phwnix-like, th# i termination
-of this gave ris* to a disease ^q-islly distrest-
iog, and wrhieh, ti|l now. I had thought incur
able. Various ahiceaSca made their uowel-
eome appearance, particularly on the joints,
which were swelled to fin enormous aiae.—
These gradually subsided into hard tumors;
one of which on my' left knee affected tbe
bone—an incision was now made and a large
evacuation of pus, mixed with pieces of bone
took place.’ In addition tdthia, I suffered the
moat excruciating painsin my joints that man
ever experienced. Every thing that was
administered either gave ew no reliefer ser
ved to aggravate the disease, the severity cf
which increased with every succeeding year.
Such wsa my painful ai’uation that I despaired
of iver being restored td my heal hi I had
not only tried- the regular means of relief,
but used, though in vain, every popular rem
edy I could h<a r ef- It was in this awful and
desponding eonditioo,th*t I was persuaded tn

io diminish, and soon ceased altogethe*, the
ulcerfram whence it proceeded being com
pletely heated. The toman, for tbe removal
of whioh I have tried lo vain more remedies
(ban I can name, are rapidly decreasing i my
appetite, which was gone, has returned-! an-
in fact, nearly well, snd feel .confident (hat a
few bottles more of your, (*o me) invaluable
medicine, w>!) mnkc me perfectly so.
