Out Dav liATta.—The rfliipUoitoti arriv
ed at Boston, has brought London papers to
the 20th, and Liverpool to the 21st of Juno.
Our correspondent oftbo Patriot has forward
ed us the following.
The London Courier ef Juno 10th, scoffs
at the idea that the war between Turkey and
Russia will be oxtended to the roBt of Eu
rope. “ England, it says, will remain at
peace.*
Mr. Bankes, the high ^ory Anti-Catholic
candidate, baa lost his election for Cambridge,
which Mr. Cavendish, the Whig Pro-Popery
candidate, has gained by a great majority.—
The result was, we believe, somewhat unex
pected ; at least if we are to tely upon that
part ortho press which wastbo avowed or
gan of the loeing candidate, bis success was
considered as boyond doubt.
Manchester accounts of the IGth Juno,
show no material change in the 6tato of tho
cotton trade. The demand for low yarns
continued good, and the prices steady, but
without any advance. There was also a'
demand for low printed cloth, and other ar
ticles for.foreign markets; but the country
trado was inactive and unprofitable.
Letters from Malta of the 1 Uth May, state
that the British Beet had sailed forNavarino,
and that the Greek blockade was to be rais
ed forthwith. No ulterior destination of the
$oet U mentioned.
The news from tho sent of War, is no la
ter—indeed the extracts given "from the
frontiers of Wollachia,” are not so lato, as
from the Russian Head Quarters.
The Russian Consul, lioisnakow, arrived
at Bucharest the 16th May, to fill the placo
. of Vice Prepident. President Salsuchin is
gone to the head-quarters at Kallarasch, in
cotnpanj with Col. Runchc. Count Balsu<
. chin was mentioned, some time ago, as suc
cessor of the murdered Ambasskdor in Per-
Eaia } but the present occurrences of tho army
I seem to require his presence here, and con
tradict the strove report.
The Turks have received great succors at
. Giurg^vo and Rudechuck ; their force iBes
timated at 50,000 men. Ilia still supposed
that Count Miebftscb will continue his ope
rations against Silistria, with his reserve, and
i&lv.tinee with the main body of biB army to
wards Rudschuck and Widdin
The new Vico President Boisniaknow has
ordered the Executive Divan to provide pro-
visions for 90,000 men. The reasons of those
now wonts are not Unowa ; whatever they
are intended for (our troops already on the
other side of the Danube are for tho expect
ing reserves) nobody is yet ablo to clear up :
it is only certain that the deliveries must he
made. The income of all monastic estates is
to be seized for several years ; at least there
is a rumor of it. Three thousaud Russians
are gone from Wallachia to Bulgaria.—
Twelve pieces of artillery, of 18 inch calibre,
were removed a few days ago towards Giro
gevo.
The bombardment of Silistria has begun.
During the night of tho 21st the whole sky in
this direction was red. Two hundred car
penters are occupied at tho pontoon of Kal
branch ; but even with the utmost exertions
it will not soon be ready, forty boats having
been destroyed and carried off at tbo, lait in
undation'.

Liverpool, June 20,—A stoutly and regular
consumptive demand is experienced for foreign
product),unaccompanied oflate by any material
llcuiuatious in price. For several weeks past
tliure certainly has been a moro firm market,
and the general appearances of buBines have
improved; still the transactions which occur
aro baiwoen the importers and consumers, or
otherwise tho regular dealers, for speculation
on any extended system doeB not at present
seem to bo thought of. Tho consumption of
Cotton is on nn extensive scale, as will be seen
by the weekly sales, and which aro chiefly
made for immediate use, tho stocks with the
manufacturers being considered as light.^-
Last week 14,365 packages were sold, against
only 4,572 imported i the wind during tho pre
sent work lias been favorablo.and the receipts
reach 29,911 bags and bales, and the sales
sum up 13,797 packages as follows : 4752

The above purchases have bcon made almost
exclusively by the trade, and tho week dos

Liverpool, June 20.—The blockade in the
Mediterranean has been raised no far as it
relates to the coast between the Gulf of Sn
rosand the Gulf of Contessa. There is uo
blockade of Adramati, nor in fact will there
be in future any other blockade than that of
the mouth of the Dardanelles, as was origiu-
ally declared by Russia.
According to the Hamburg Reporter, the
letters from Bucharest represent the city in
a state of tho utmost despondency ; all who
havo the means, preparing to quit tho abode
-of. pestilence and misery, aud to seek a refuge
-(n Transylvania. One of the first medical
motfffrisiatfed upon it that the existing cpi
-flpitiio. was not the original plague, and in
proof of his conviction, he unhcbitstingly
touched the swellings of his patients with the
naked band. He wins soon, however, at
tacked with a similar swelling himself, and
diqd on the fifth day. Still there were other
medical men who persisted in denying the
presence of the plague, and Voo Schlegel, tho
physician to tho Russian Btaff, rcBolved on
opening the body of the deceased. Tho re
sult of this investigation was uot made known,
but it was not supposed to have been satis
factory, a report having got into circulation,
that during the night the body was secretly
conveyed out of the city and buried in a

London, June 20.—Last night we receiv
ed the Paris papers by oxpross. On Tues
day the Spanish humbug Rentes fell 3$ per
cent; and, at one timo the depression a-
mounted to 4$. The cause of this dqclioc
was the fraud lately brought to light, and
which will probably put an end to the loan

Paris, June 17.—Wo have said that Ad
miral Hoyden had by an official declaration,
confirmed the extension given to the blockade
of the Dardanelles by Admiral Ricord : tho
Gulfs of Faros, Enos, LagoB, Cavale and
Coutesas, bad been prohibited to the mer
chants.
This resolution has excited consternation
in the merchants of all Europe, and gave rea
son to fear a collision between Russia and
England.
We have a letter from Vienna which says
—‘‘The Austrian Government ha« recoived
the news that the Emperor Nicholas has de
clared that it was bis mteotion that his fleet
should confine itself to the blockade of the
Dardanelles. The couriers who are the
Ibearers of ibis news left Warsaw on the 3d

tho result of the meeting of the Greek Depu
ties. Col. Fabvier has also embarked on
board the Dido, from which it might be in
ferred that he will return to France with the
Cpmmanderio chief.
They write from Toulon, under date of the
11th June:—"The report was current at

COMMUNICATED VOH THE GEORGIAN.
[iebaol Preudergrast 1 Casein Attachment—
1 vs. > Justice Pelots Court,
Michael Curran. ) June Term, 1829.
In this case it appears that certain goods,
waVes and merchandize, were levied upon in
tbejstore occupied by tho defendant, by Con
stable Williams, on thc2Ct!i May last, under
and\by virtue of said attachment, aod dispo
sed of at public sole, on tbo 13th Juno:—That
on tno 29th May last, Sheldon C. Dunning,
ExctWor of Josiah Penficld, obtained from
Robert W. Pooler, Esq. Clork of the Superi
or Court of Chatham County, a distress war
rant far rent alledged to ho due by tho said
Michael Curron, to tho Estate of J. Pcnfield,
for the sura of sixty-five dollars and 56 ct6.
and six dollars costs. On the 8th of June
last, Charles Swan obtained a judgment a-
gaiubt siidM Curran,in Justice Cbadbourne’s
Court far ten dollars and 18 costs. That
on the l«ih of July lost, Isaac D’Lyon obtain
ed three Judgements in Justice Shcftal’s
Court, ^mounting to eighty-three dollars and
$5 6?4 cobIs. In all of these cases, as also an
attachment case issued on the 15ih June last,
in favo^ of M’Elhonney, Girvio & Co., Con
stable Williams has boon served with notices
to rotoio the funds arising from the sa o of
said goods under Prendergrast’a attachment.
And thid.Court is now called upon by the re
spectivc parties to order tho payment of said
funds according to law. In relation to at-
tachmonts'tho Low is very clear, it express
ly says, tha^ " oo lien shall be ernatod by the
levying of an attachment to the exclusion of
any judgment obtained by any creditor, before
judgment is obtained by tho attaching credi
tor”—Prince’s Digest 22, Sec. 8th. In the
case then oftbSattaching creditor, judgment
was not obtained until the 8tb inst. and is
therefore tho youngest brought to the notice
of tho Court. Tl\e only question then to bo
decided, is wliethek the distress warrant shall
claim a preference ta judgments subsequently
obtained. From the facta in r elation to this
case, tho Court is opinion it cannot. Bo.
cause there was no return oo the warrant,
nor any levy, ever made on any goods of the
defendant Curran, consequently oo lien was
ever created; and further, that a distress
warrant is merely a proceeding in Rem, and
to give it effect and clothe it with tbo charac
ter and dignity of an exboation issuing upon
a judgment, it must batf been executed.—
This requisite not having ueeo done, tbeCourt
must direct and order, that the monies now
io the hands of the officer, be appropriated to
the discharge of the oldeBt''judgments, aftor
all costs and charges shall have been paid,
and that the distress warrant cannot be view
ed as a judgment unless the same bad been le
vied.
