One day whilo chopping in the wdodrf, I foolishly chopped my foot nearly off, Instead of the troo. During thismisfortuno I employed myself in peritsiilgtho fragment loaves of an old volume, printed it) Eng- land some hundred years ago. Aiiidug theso scattered IcavcR I read of an herb which had been analyzed by some of England’s nriuicut Alche mists, shewing properties nud qualities never be fore found iu any plant that was over discovered. This ono herb, under tho forco of tho Retort nnd Crucible, developed' more than ten distinct proportion. This fiiet struck my mind so forcibly, that it was impossible to got rid of it. Sdinotiiiiig seemed to tell mo that Providviiae, whoso special care is extended towards all Ida creatures, had never concentrated into ono small hurb so many medicinal qualities, as various and as complicatod, although perfectly identical us the human blond, without a wiso nud good purpose. Hero wus to he found the ucida, the alkalis, tho oils, the Water, element of power, Ibrtniug a substunen more al lied and iu affinity to the human blood than was ever before discovered in the works of nature. . Laboring under these iniprcssirtiw for sovoral years, I became uneasy, discontented, and un- willing to confine myself lougor to the duties of a former. Every tiling seemed to point itty mind to one object, viz.: the preparation of this hbW> into a- medicine. I then determined to return to the city of N. York. I did so,.and immediately inquired for llie herb. It was not to be found. 1 then Aunt to Europe uud there found it under uuoUiur name. Having prepared the urtiile to my satisfaction, 1 gave it away to all who would uso it. Hun dreds, 1 might say thousands, took it into their families and used it: some for ono thing umi some for another, and all from the very lirtst to tho very last, pronounced it of unrivaled excel lence and power. • Tho first ease that came under my observation, was a man that had lost the uso of his arm fur some years. Tho Ointment * restored his arm completely in a few days. This surprised nio u* much us it did the patient. After him there cuiiih a man witji sore eyes produced by gunpowder—:i very had ease indeed. Ono box only sulfided to nuke a perfect cure. Aiul l would Itore remark tint hundreds have been cured of sore eyes, who never found any relief but in this (jint- IIIBIlt. There next catuo a woman who was suffering excruciating puin from the ague in the face— Her physician (thinking it tiro toothache,) had extracted eleven of her tenth. But tho ditliculty still remained as hud iiw ever. The Application oftho All lleafing Ointment was attended with immediate cessation of pain. Her face however, began to swell, uudthcsurfiico was covurod over with pimples of eruption like prickly heat. In one day all this disappeared. About the tmmn time, a lady nuido application with it for tho headache of long standing, and a falling of the hair. Thu Ointment cured her headache, and restored her hair. Siuco this, 1 havo known tho Ointment to cure cases of ten, twenty and forty years standing. 1 hesitate not to say, that it I1 almost an iutiillililo remedy for this complaint. About this time there were two cases, one of Consumption, mid the other of Scrofula, which had Imtlled the skill of every physician who pros cribed. It was wonderful to witness the olVoc.tof tho Ointment on these persons. No qhe would believe it uuluss they had personally witnessed it. But it did file work properly. There wan no half way business, for they recovered their health in n few mouths. Rheumatism, Fever. Qiiiuzy, Sore Throat, Cu taneous Eruptions, diseases of the Spine, and Nervous Complaints were treated wilii unheard of success. But ill Chest diseases, such as Asth ma, paiu and oppression, I believe there is no bel ter remedy. Also, tho common diseasuA, such us Ulcer Sores, Scald Hnnd, Humors of the Skin, Iiilluinuiutiou, Files, Sore Eyes, Sprains, Bruises, and Burns, it seems to be u perfect antidote.— People would couio into the store smiling, wish ing to know if I wus really tho Sovchth Son, or whether the Ointment that I gave them was indeed all-healing in its nature. For said tlioy, not one single application has foiled to cure. Liver Complaint, particularly, wus treated with grent aud universal success. It produced such good results iu all ruses that it has been noised abroad, nud l wus ofiured sums of money lor n receipt to make it for private use merely. Every man spoke well of it, us it hud done so much good* Not withstanding all, I have been careful not to recommend it, except incases l knew it would do S ond. I was never willing to loud myself lo any ling without first I eating its merits. This 1 en deavor to do on every occasion, uud when I acted ns one of the Sick Cuiiunittcu ill the Lodge of 1. O. of O. F. 1 then tested it upon Brothers iu the most critical conditions, aud hud uhuudum oppor tunity of proving its worth. And, ill conclusion, 1 would remark that 1 have placed this Ointment before the people oftho U. Slates during tho lust nine or twelve months, aud so general has been the satisfaction, nud ho great umouiit of good done, that more tliau half a mill ion of boxes liuvo ulrcndy been sold. I do really believe there novor was a medicine which guiued such widespread, universal and unanimous Matin- the faction os the All-Healing Ointment. From oil parts of the laud there liuvo come up one deep, sincere and universal voice of approbation saying “McAlister tby tongue hath dropped the word of truth and lovu, whilo health forever attends thy foot steps.” And were I now to give all the good sayings of tho people, their unqualified approval, their Umiikfiilness und gratitude, their joy ut rarov criug from disease uud sickness, I could fill a volume.
