L. BALDWIN CO.
HEALING OINTMENT—About the yea
1817,1 was living in the western part of this State,
pursuing the occupation ori; farmer. One day
while chopping in the woods, I foolishly chbppcil
my foot noarly off, instead of the treu. During
this misfortuno I employed myself in perusing the
fragment leaves of an old volume, printed in Eng
land some hundred yean ago. Among these
scattefod leaves I read of an herb which had bceik
analyzed by some of England’s ancient Alche
mist*, Showing properties and qualities never be
fore found in any pl&nt that was ever discovered.
This one herb, under the force of tlio Retort
and Crucible, developed more tbajl leu distinct
properties. This fact struck my mind >0 forcibly,
that it was impossible to gqt rid of it. Something
scemod to tell me that Providence, whose special
cure is extended towards all his CMtttres, hud
never concentrated into one small herb so many
medicinal qualities, ns various nnd as complicated,
although perfectly identical da the hitman blood,
without a wise and good purpose. Here was to
bo found the, acids, the alkAli*, the nils, the water,
the air, the salts, tlio soda, &c., all combined, con
centrated, and chemically unitod into one single
element of power, forming a substance more al
lied nnd in affinity to the human blood than was
ever before discovered m tho works of nature.
Lnbdring under, these impression* for several
years, I became uneasy, discontented, nnd un
willing to confute inyselflouger to the duties of a
fanner. :i
EVery thing ifccmed t'6 point my mind to ono
object, viz.: tho preparation of this herb into a
medicine. I then detunuiued to return to Uie city
of N. York. I did so, and immediately inquired
fdr die herb. It was hot td bo fount). I thou
sent to Europe nnd there found it under another
name.
Having prepared the article to niy satisfaction,
I gave it nwdy fo all, whp would use It. Hun
dreds, I might say thousands, took it into their
families and used it: some for ono thing mid
some for imothor, nild nil from* die very first to
tho very last, pronounced it of unrivaled excel
lence uud powter
The first case dint came under my observation,
was u matt tliut bad lost tho iiho of hi* nrui for
some years. The Ointment restored his arm
completely in a few days. This surprised mo a*
much as it did the patient. After him there canid
a mail widi sore eyes produced by gunpowder—a
very had case indeed. Oho box only sulfieied to
make a perfect cure. And I would here remark
that hundreds have been cured of sore eyes,
who hover found any relief but in this Oint
ment.
There nextcnirio a woman whd was suffering
excruciating pain from the Ague in tho face.—
Her physician (diiilking it tho toothache,) had
extracted eleven of her teeth. But die difficulty
still remained ns bail ns over. TJ10 Application
of the All Healing Ointment was attended with
immediate cessation of pain. Her face however,
began to swell, and the surface wns covered over
with pimples of eruption like prickly heat. Iu
one day nil diis disappeared. About the sumo
time, a lady made application with it fur dm
headache of long standing, Arid u fulling of die
hair. The Ointment cured her headache, and
restored her Imir. Siiice diis, I have kuowii the
Ointment to cure cases often, twenty and forty
years standing. I hesitate not to any, that it is
almost un infallible remedy for this complaint.
About this time there were two cuses, one of
Consumption, nnd die odierof .Scrofula, which
had battled the skill of every physician who pres
cribed. It was wonderful to witness die effect of
thu Ointment nn these persons. Nu one would
believe it unless they lmil personally witnessed it.
But it did the work properly. There was no hall*
way business, for they recovorcd their health in a
few mouth*.
Rlimimndstn, Fever, Quinzy, Sore Throat, Cu
taneous Eruptions, diseases of the Spine, mid
Nervous Complaints were treated with unheard
of success. Butin Chest diseases, such ns Asth
ma, pain and oppression, I believe dieru is 110 bet
ter remedy. Also, the common diseases, such in
Ulcer Sores, Scald Head, Humors of the Skin,
Inttammutiun, Piles, Sore Eyes, Sprains, Bruises,
nnd Burns, it seems to he a perfect nntidote.—
People would come into die store smiliug, wish
ing to know if I was really the Seventh Son, or
whether the Ointment that I gave them was indeed
all-healing in it* nature. For said they, not one
liugle application has failed to cure.
Liver Complaint, particularly, was treated with
greut and universal success.
It produced such good results in all rases that it
has been noised uhruud, und I wns offered sums of
money for a receipt to make it for private us**
merely. Every limit spoke well of it, us it had
doueso much good.
Not withstanding all, 1 have boon careful not to
recommend it, except incases I knew it would do
good. I was never willing to lend myself to nnv
tiling without first testing its merits. 'This I en ;
(leaver to do on every occasion, and when 1 acted
as one of the Sick Committee iu the Lodge of 1.
O. of O. F. I then tested it upon Brothers in thu
mnstcritical conditions, and hud ubundnnt oppor
tunity of proving it* worth.
And, in conclusion; I would remark that I have
placed this Ointment before the people of the U.
States during the last nine or twelve months, aud.
so general has been tho satisfaction, and so great
amount of good done, that more than hnlfa mill
ion of boxes have already boon sold. 1 do really
believe there never was a medicine which gained
such widespread, universal anil unammoUH satis
faction ns the All-Healing Ointment. From all
parts of the land there have route up one deep,
sincere and universal voice of approbation saying
‘‘McAlister thy tongue hath dropped the word of
truth ami love, while health forever attends thy
foot steps.” And were I now to give all Uie good
sayiugH of the people, tlieir unqualified approval,
ttieirtfutukliilue** and gratitude, their joy at rerov
eriug from disease aud sickness, I could fill a
volume. Jamks. McAi.istkr, New York.
