Sec. 3. Be it further ordained by tho authority
aforesaid, That nil barrels containing Flour
brought for sale to this market shall bo well

witli thin hoops, secured by four nails in each

Ordinance,uuder a penalty ofone dollar for each

ciuiilulile, but arc susceptible of being so repaired

infraction.

spect to persons, lie will diligently and to tho best

offered to him for inspection, and will brand tlio

the duties of his ollice.
8cc.fi. Bo it further ordained by tlio authority
aforesaid, That no Inspector of Flour shall pur
chase, directly or indirectly, uuy Flour, unless for
tho use of himself or family, under the penalty of
Ton Dollars for each barrel or package purcliuscd
by him in violation of this Ordinance.
8cc. 7. lie it farther ordained by tho authority
aforesaid, That ail fines incurred under this Ordi
nance shall be appropriated thus—ono half to tho
informer and the other half to the City Treasury
tjec. 8. Be it further ordained hy the authority
aforesaid, That it shall be tho duty of the Inspector
to inspect Indian Corn and Corn .Meal in bags
or in barrels, when requested by tho owner or
consignee to do so; ami he shall brand such only
ns ho deems to ho sound ami merclinutable, for
'vlnch Ins compensation shall bo three cents tier
barrel or hag as aforesaid.

that purpose proving entirely inadequate to effect

ing with this recommendation, Imt without resort
ing to an increase of tlm present taxes, have de
cided to make an appropriation (hr that object
from the present revenues of the county.
It is therefore ordered, Tlmt tlm interest de
rived from tlm sum of six thousand dollars, re
ceived for the (dd Jail ami lots, and now vested in
1'iibra: Stocks, be and is hereby appropriated uml
set apart, together with such further sum to lie
paid out of the Comity treasury, as shall makeup
the amount offer hundred dollars annually, he
paid to the Commissioners of Common Schools,
to he appropriated hy them witli tlm couciirronci
of the Justices of the Inferior Court, to the suv
oral District schools, in such proportions as shall
lie deemed most beneficial: Provided, neverthe
less, that the inhabitant* of uacli district shall
■uiiso one or more convenient and proper school
houses to he built in each district, ami approved
of by said Commissioners, otherwise the money
apportioned to such district shall he withheld.
Ordered further, That Robert A. Lewis lie,
and lie is hereby appointed one of the Commis
sioners in place of N. J. Bayard removed from
the comity.
It is required that these order* 1m entered upon
the minutes of the Inferior Court nml he publish
ed in both the city gazettes for one iiioulii, daily,
aud hy a {proper notification from thu Cniiiims-
