schools, the funds assigned by tlio State for
that purpose proving entirely inadequate to efl'eet
tjra objects intended to Ira accomplished, tlra Jus
tices of the Inferior Court, desirous of comply
ing with this ruc.mtmuuiduliott,but without resort
ing to an increase of thu present laves, have de
cided to make an appropriation for that object
from the prusout revenues of the county.
Il is therefore ordered, That tlra interest de
rived from tlra sum of six thousand dollars, re
ceived for tlra old Jail and lots, and now vested in
Public Stocks, be and is hereby appropriated and
set apart, together with such 'further sum to he
pnid out of the Comity treasury, as shall makeup
tlra amount of free hundred dollars annually, he
paid lo lira Commissioners of Common Schools,
to Ira appropriated hy them with the concurrence
of tho Justices of lira Inferior Court, to tlra sev
eral District schools, in such proportions as sliall
Ira deemed most heuefieiaj: Provided, neverthe
less, that tlra inhabitants of uiie.li district shall
cuiisu one or more convenient ami proper school
houses to be built in each district, and approved
of by said Commissioners, otherwise the money
apportioned to such district sliall be withheld.
