Tins preparation, (by adding tho Queen's De
light, Ac. to tiio Sarsaparilla,) combines in a more
perfect degree than any known remedy, tonic
aud nlterativo powers, and 1* highly recommend-
od by eminent physician*. It is prepnrod in con-
sequence of tho recommendation* given by Dr.

added when nocessary. To show tiio high esti

There nro few cases of chronic and painful
Rheumatism that will not yield to the influence of
Sarsaparilla 8 nd ducon’s Delight if duly prose-
vered in, especially if takoitiu conjunction witli

Is highly recommended for all disouse* of the
skin, chronic us well us recent. One bottle will,
in most instances, effectually remove all pimples,
postules or blotches on tho 'fitco, to which young
porsons in this climato ore so much siilijoctad to,
arising cither from impurity of the blood or de

entirely every trace of hereditary diseases from

cutaneous nflection* it is inwilitablo. As n gon-

ohstinuto diseases, this preparation will undoubt
edly take tho precedence of all other remedies. It
gently operates upon and regulates the Imwcls,
restores to tho blood its wonted purity, gives tone
to the stomach, nnd promotes digestion.
It will etfectuully relieve Erysipelas even in its
worst fttages, anil nil persons snlVering from this

es incidental to n debilitated state of the system,
such ns night sweats, Ae. An.
The native Febrifuge is otfered. The proprie
tor is aware that the common objections to all new
preparations will bn urged against tills. To obviate
all such objections, lie lias simply to state that it is
prepared according to the receipt of an eminent
physiran, who used it with perfect success
through a long practice, in perhaps the most sick
ly region of our country, viz: the Mississippi vul-
Icy. Again from the exalted estimation in which
Quinino is held, not only by tho people, but hy
the most skillful physicians, it will appear stipera-
rogatory to offer any new article. But the Native
Febrifuge possesses ull the power ami certainty
of Quinine in controlling Fever without oflrctiu'g
the head, and may be safely used tlicrolbr, whore
Quinine is inadmissible. 'It is not the purpose of
the proprietor however sanctioned by custom on
such occasions, to attempt u display of medical
knowledge by adopting some one of the contra
dictory theories afloat, with regard to tho charac
ter tutu causes of Fever.
Believing with (lie learned Gregory Hint though
there lias been so imicli written concerning Fever
there is no one subject in the whole circle of medi
cal science which still involves so many disputed
points. Letting all theories pass, wo stand by
diets. The first of which is that tho Native Fe
brifuge will cure fever, from whatever cause it
may have originated, and ifnny doubt exists, as to
the fact wo invito tho uiltictcd to the test, with
confidence ns to the issue. What it lias done it
will do. The, following certificate of one well
known will show wlmt it has done:
Savannah, 12th May, 1847.
Mr. Jas. A. La Roche having requested me to
state my knowledge of the Native Febrifuge, I
take pleasure instating thut it was used benefici
ally in tho Fevers of the valley of the .Mississippi
und Arkansas, in all cases in which Quinine is us
ually exhibited, and was udmissahle in conges
tions oftho brain when Quinine was supposed to
be coutrudicatcd.
J. J. Mitchkm., M. D.

Dear Sir.—In compliance with my promise to
let you hear from me, with regard to tho eflect of
vour Febrifuge, permit mu to hand you tho fol
lowing statement of fact*. For ifearly ft years my
wife lias been laboring under the effects of con
tinually recurring Chills und Fevers, notwith
standing all the remedies prescribed by our best
Physicians, and at the time 1 procured The Na
tive Febrifuge, we had become perfectly despon
dent, fearing that death alone would terminate her
disease, hut I am happy to state that the use of
owe bottle has broken the Fever completely and
restored her so far as to require only a little time
to recruit her wasted energies and 'place her iu
perfect health, such has boon the change produc
ed in her habit and constitution by The Nutiv
Febrifuge.

Fairbanks Platform Scales.—It is not often that

commending something dint is useful. Wo can
not consent to gratify the cupidity of un indivi
dual, at the risk of imposing tho confidence of
thousands of <mr renders who rely upon the hon
esty of«,ur statements, ifnot in tho infhlibility of
our jiidmciit.' That greut improvements have
been made within a lew years, hi the instruments
or weighing merchandise, is a fact familiar to husi-
ness men. The antique clumsy nnd inaccurate
methods or weighing, have given way to the in
vention ol American mechanical skill, and the nt-
most precision has been attained. A variety of
I lutionn Balances nro iimimfacttired and n'sed,
which cannot ho relied on for any considerable
degree ot accuracy, so thut they necessarily in-
volvo oho party in pecuniary loss. It therefore
n r it ”s pleasure to refer to the Platform Scales
of Mr. Fuirbunk, winch have been extensively
used m all parts of thu United Statos'for several
years, and given, ns far as our kuowlodged ex
tends, very general satisfaction. Wo purchased

oil them constantly for weighing paper, Ac. aud

I ho plan of construction is philosophical and

ders tile instrument more complicated, loss preciso
in its operation and more liable to dcrnngeinont.

In presenting such n body rtf evidence in tho

Mr. Editor: Sir,—My sense of duty to my suf
fering fellow mortals ha* induced me to moke the
following cnnmninirtnlinn; nud I nm in l»opu« Unit,
should you see proper to give it in whole or in
part, a place in your valuable paper, it may prove
beneficial to some poor fellow sntierer. In the
winter ofl8ft4, nnd the day after I had a hard day’s
work lifting nnd moving log*,'I was taken with a
violent pain in my hack and loin*, and the dny
following with a total suppression or stoppage of
urine. (Iwus tlien a citizen of Jones county,
Gn.] I immediately railed in a physician ofgreat
eminence nnd distinction ; for thfrty-six hours I
siitiered a* much, to till appearance, as it was
possible for hitman nature to endure, and nt last
found relief only by tile help of thu catheter. I
applied then to suveral eminent physicians both
in Baldwin and Jones, without receiving any ben-
cfitntlior than a temporary relief, for my com
plaint would every two or throe days return, and
the catheter was my only helper. ‘lit 18:171 re
moved to this county, uml brought with me my
tormenting complaint und my friendly catheter.—
Hero, as there, I applied to the most* skillful phy
sicians, u.* I thought, and here, as there, I receiv
ed iio benefit from them. In September 1842,
after having suflered at times the most excrucia
ting pain* for eight years and nine mouths, and
after having spent n great deal of money (tit least
.>>00) on doctor* during thu time, 1 was induced
to tiy Dr. M. S. Thomson, of Macon, and timiijdi
1 entertained the most violent prejudice to hi*
mode of practice, tuy necessity compelled mu to
go, Ibrl had then been confined to my house for
ton days, and Imd to resort to the use of the ca
theter;three or four times daily. In this misera
ble plight I left home, went to Dr. Thomson,
stated my case to him, and lie gave mu medicine.
In half an liouraftur taking hi* first dose, I felt that
ease, and had that free and copious discharge of
urine which I Imd not felt or had in almost nine
years. Anil from that time to this present day,
.March 2/ltli, 1847, I have had lie return ofniy
complaint, nnd no more use for my catheter, lii
order to iiinke the cure permanent I continued
the use of the medicine several months. Since
then I take nothing for it. I out, drink, sleep,
and work as in former days, nnd feel as well uml
sound as ever I was. You may well suppose that
it did not take long to baui*li prejudice at that
rate, and I now say to the afflicted, that 1 believe
in many instances that prejudice stands more in
Ihe way of their recovery limn the incurability ol'
their diseases. Such, Air. Editor, is my expe
rience of Dr. Thomson’.* treatment, and such the
results. Neither lie nor hi* remedies vrr.d any
encomium from me : the skill oftho one and the
ctiicncy oftlic other are too well known for that;
but a fellow feeling for the sufliircr* induced me
to take up the pen, and to lliem is dedicated the
imperfect roinuiuuicntioii of
Yours, respectfully.
