Is highly recommended for all diseases of tho

Scalds, Burns, and all Soros nnd Wounds, tending
to suppurate; it draws cauterized Soros or Issues
very successfully and without pain. It dissipates
distressing pain from Gout or Rheumatism iu a
very short time, and is a safe nnd certain enro for
Rheumatism and Hying Rheumatic Pains, if tho

I entertained tlio most violent prejudice to his
mode ofnrnctice, my necessity compelled me to
go, fori had then boon confined to my house for

ble plight I left homo, wcut 'to Dr. Thomson,
stated my caso to him, and lie gave mo medicine.
In half an hour after taking his first dose, Holt th t
ease, and had that free nud copious discharge of
urine which I had not felt or had in almost nine
years. And from that time to this present day,
March 20th, 1817, I have had no return of my
complaint, and no more use for my cathoter. Iu
order to make the euro permanent I continued

then I tako nothing for it. I oat, drink, sleep,
aud work as iu former days, and fool as well and
sound us ever I was. You may well suppose that
it did not tako long to banish prejudice at that
rate, nud I now say to the ufliictod, that I believe
in many instances that prejudice stands more iu
tho way of their recovery tliun tho incurability of
their discuses. Such, Air. Editor, is my oxpo-
rieuco ol Dr. Thomson’s treatment, aud such the
results. Neither ho nor his remedies need any
encomium from mo ; the skill of the one uud tho

hut a fellow feeling fertile sufferers induced me

plug the holo with a round piece or«oft wood, to
prevent tho entrunco of water. Should the said
Inspector judge tho Flour to bu mejehautuble,
according to tho provisions of this ordinance, ho
shall provido himself with brands, with letters
three-fourths of an inch iu length, with which lie
shall brand each barrel according to quality, viz:
“fine," “middling,“first” or “sec

each barrel, nud the initial letters of his name,

to ho paid by tho owner or consignee of tlio

brought for salo to this market shall ho well
made of good suusoned materials, nnd tightened
with thin hoops, secured by four nails in each
ehmo hoop, and three nails to ouch upper bilge
hoop, and of tho following dimensions : the
staves of wholo barrels twenty seven inches long,
and the diameter of tlio head seventeen inches;
the staves of half barrels twenty-two inches in
length, aud tho diameter of the head thirteen in
ches; and all barrels truly tnred on the same head
with tho Mill brands, shall he deemed merchanta
ble barrels, tlio brand or mark to bo so distinctly

aforesaid, That each barrel of Flour shall con
tain one hundred and ninety-six pounds nett of
flour, nnd each ball-barrel shall contain ninety-
eight pounds nett of Flour, full weight; nnd the
said Iinpoctor shall not brand any barrel or half-
barrel ol Flour containing a less quantity of Flour

Barley, Wheat, and Oats.
Sec. 1. Bo it ordained by tho Muyor and Al
dermen oftlio City of Savannah and the Ham
lets thereof in Council assembled, nnd it is hereby
ordained by the authority of tlio same, That from
and after tlio nassnge of this Ordinance, all Corn,
Rye, Barley, Wheat, and Oats bought nnd sold
willful the City of Savannah, shall be bought nnd
sold under tho following regulations, viz : every
bushel of Corn shall weigh fifty-six pounds, every
bushel of Rye fifty-six poll infs, overy bushel of
Barley forty-eight pounds, every bushel of Wheat
sixty pounds, and every bushel of Oats thirty-two
pounds : Provided, Tlmt nothing herein contain
ed shall be construed to mako it unlawful for the
imrclmser nnd seller to agreo for the sulo of the
foregoing particularly described commodities by
measurement ns heretofore, instead of by weight.
Sec. 2. Bo it further ordained by the authori
ty aforesaid, That iu tlio weighing of tho above
mentioned produce, the weights now used ami
required by Council, shall be used by tlio seller
or sellers.
Sec. 3, Be it further ordained by the authori
ty aforesaid, That every white person who shall
sell corn, rye, barley, wheat nnd outs, contrary
to the provisions of this ordinance, shull, for each
and every offence, forfeit aud pay a sum not less
than Fivo Dollars, aud not exceeding Ten Dol
lars, one lialfto ho paid into the City Treasury,
