THE NATIVE FUIIRUTIGU,
X For the Cure of Bilious, Remittent and In
termittent, or Ague and Fever, and othordiseas-
es incidental to a debilitated slate of the system,
such as night sweats, &c. <fce.
The nativo Fehriftigo is olfered. The proprie
tor is aware that tho common objections to ull now
preparations will be urged against this. To obviate
all such objections, lie has simply to state that it is
prepared according to tho receipt of an eminent
physienn, who used it with perfect success
through a long practice, in perhaps the most sick
ly region of our country, viz: the Mississippi val
ley. Again from tlm exnlted estimation in which
Quinine is held, not only by the people, but by
the most'skillful physicians, it will appearsupern-
rogatory to offer any now article. But the Nativo
Febrifuge possesses all iho power and certainly
of Quinine in controlling Fever without affecting
the head, and may he safely used therefor, whore
Quinine is inadmissible. It is not the purpose of
the proprietor however sanctioned hy custom oq
such occasions, to attempt a display of medical
knowledge by adopting some one of tho contra
dictory theories afloat, with regard to the charac
ter and causes of Fever.
Believing with the learned Gregory that though
there has been so much writtonconcortiiiig Fevor
there is no one subject in tho whole circle of meili-
cal Hcieuce which still involves so many disputed
ljoints. Letting all theories pass, wo stand hy
facts. The first of which is that tlio Nativo Fe
brifuge will cure fovor, from wlmtovor cause it
may have originated, and if any doubt exists, as to
tho fact wo invito the afllictnd to tho tost, with
confidence as |o the issue. What it has done it*
will do. The following certificate of one well
known will show what it 1ms done:
Savavxah, 12tli May, 1847.
Mr. Jas. A. La Roche having requested mo to
state my knowledge of the Native Febrifuge, I
take pleasure in stating that it was used benefici
ally in tlm Fevers of tho valley of tlm Mississippi
am! Arkansas, in all eases in which Quinine is us
ually exhibited, and was mlmissahlo in-conges
tions oftho brain when Quiuino was supposed to

Dear Sir:—In compliance with my promise to
lot you hear from mo, witli regard to the effect of
your Febrifuge, permit me to baud you tlm fol
lowing statement of facts. For nearly 3 years my
wife has been laboring under tlio effects of con
tinually recurring Chills and Fevers, notwith
standing nil tlm remedies prescribed by our best
Physicians, uud at tlm time I procured The Na
tivo Febrifuge, we Imd become perfectly despon
dent, fearing that death uUino would terminate her
disease, but I am happy to slate that the use of

restored her so far as to require only a little time
to recruit hor wasted energies mid placo her in

The plan of construction is philosophical and
simple. The employment of two lovers, with a
single beam, is ceruiinly die most practicable, in
a compound platform balance. Any increase of
the number of fevers or an additional beam, ren
ders tho instrument moro complicated, less prociso
in its operation and more linblo to derangement.

properties. Tins fact struck my mind so forcibly,
that it was impossible to got rid of it. Something
scorned to toll mo that Frovidonco, whoso spocid

never concentrated into one small herb so many
medicinal qualities, oirvnrimis and as complicated,
although perfectly identical as the human bleed,

the air, the salts, the soda, &c.,allcombincd, con
centrated, mid chemically united into ono single
moment of power, forming a substance more al
lied and in affinity to the hmnun blood than was
evor before discovered in the works of nature.
Laboring undor these impressions for sovcral

willing to confine myself longer to tlio duties or a

Every thing seemed to point my mind to one
object^ viz.: the propnralion of this herb into n

of N. \ ork. I did so, and immediately inquired
for tlio horb. It was not to lie found. I then
sent to Europe mid tlicro found it undor nnothor

Huving prepared tho article to my satisfaction,
I gave it away to all who would uso it. Hun
dreds, I might any thousands, took it into their
families mid used it: bohio for ono thing and
some for another, nnd nil from tho vory first to
the very hist, pronounced it of unrivaled excel
lence and power.
Tlio first case that camu under my observation,
was a man that find lost the use of his nrm for
some years. The Ointment restored his arm
completely in a few days. This surprised uie us
much as it did tho patient. After him there came
a man with Horp eyes produced by gunpowder—a
very bad cuso indeed. One box only suflieiod to
make a perfect euro. And I would here remark
that hundreds have been cured of sore eyes,
Who never found any relief but in this Oint

There noxteamo a woman who was suffering
excruciating pain from the aguo in tho face.—
Iler physician (thinking it tlm toothache,) hud
extracted eleven of her teeth. But tho difficulty
still remained as had as evor. The Application
ol the All Healing Ointment was attended with
immediate cessation of pain. Her face however,
began to swell, und the surface was covered over
with pimples of eruption like prickly heat. In
one day all this disappeared. About tho same
time, a lady made application with it for thu
headache of long standing, and a falling of the
hair. The Ointment curod her headache, and
restored her hair. Since this, I have known tho
Ointment to cure cases often, twenty and forty
yours standing. I hesitate not to say, that it is
almost an infallible remedy for this complaint.
About this time there wero two cases, ono of
Consumption, and the other of Scrofula, which
had (milled the skill of every physician who pros
cribed. It was wonderful to witness tho offectof
the Ointment on these persons. No ouo would

But it did tho work properly. There was no half
way business, for they recovered their health in a
fow months.

Mr. Editor: Sir,—My sense of duty to tny suf-
feriug fellow mortals box induced mo to make the
following communication; and lam hi hopes that,
should you see propor to givo it in whole or in
l»art, »i place in your valuable paper, it may prove
benoficiul to some poor fellow sufferer. In the
winter of 1834, and the day after I find a hard day’s
work lifting and moving logs, I was taken with a
violent pain in my back and loins, nnd tho day
following with a total suppression or stoppage of
urine. [I was then a citizen of Jones comity,
Gu.] 1 immediately called in a physician ofgrout
oininonco und distinction ; for thirty-six hours I
suffered as much, to all appearance, as it was
possible for human nature to endure, nnd at last
found relief only by the help of the catheter. I
npplied then to several eminent physicians both
iii ( Baldwin uud Julies, without receiving any ben
efit other than a temporary relief, for my com
plaint would every two or three days return, and
the catheter was my only helper, ’in 1837 I re
moved to this county, aud brought with mu my
tormenting complaint uud my friendly catheter.—
Here, as there, 1 applied to tlio most skillful phy
sicians, as l thought, and here, as there, 1 receiv
ed no benefit from them. In September 1842,
after having suffered at times tho most oxcruuin-.
ting pains for eight years nnd nine months, and
after having spent a great deal of money (at least
$5011) on doctors during the time, I was induced
to try Dr. M. S. Thomson, of Macon, nud though
I entertained the most violent prejudice to his
mode ofnmctico, my necessity compelled me to
go, fori had then been confined to my house for
ten days, aud had to resort to the use oftho ca
theter three or four times daily. In this misera
ble plight I left homo, went to Dr. Thomson,
stated my case to him, and lie gave me medicine.
In half un hour after taking his first dose, I felt that
ease, ami had that free and copious discharge of
urine which I lmd not felt or Imd in almost nine
years. And from that time to this present day,
March 20th, 1647, I have lmd no return of my
complaint, and no more use for my catheter. In
order to make the cure permanent I continued
the use of the medicine several months. Since
then I take nothing for it. I eat, drink, sleep,
and work ns in former days, and fuel as well und
sound as over I was. You may well suppose that
it did not take long to Imnish prejudice at that
rate, and 1 now say to thu alllielcd, that I believe
in many instances that prejudice stands more in
the way of their recovery than tho incurability of
their diseases. Such, Mr. Editor, is my expe
rience of Dr. Thomson’s treatment, and such the
rusulLs. Neither ho nor his remedies veal any
encomium from mo : tho skill oftho nmwmd the
efficacy of the other are too woll known for that;
hut a fellow feeling for tho sufferers induced me
to lake up the pen, and to them is dedicated live
imperfect coiimmnicutiou of
