From the Atlanta (Geo.) Luminary. Mr. Editor t Sir,—Mysenso ofduty to inysiif- faring fallow mortals has induced mo to make the following communication; ami I am in hopes tlmt, should you see proper to givo it in whole or in part, n place in your valuable paper, it may prove heueficiul to sumo poor fellow sufferer. In the winter of1834, and thednyaftorl had a hordday’s work lifting uud moving logs, I wus taken with a violent pain in my Imck * * * * ‘ ‘ eminence and distinction ; for thirty-six hours . suffered ns much, to nil apponrauco, as it was possible for human nature to endure, and at last found relief only hy tho help of tlio catheter. I applied then to several eminent physicians both in Baldwin aud Jones, without receiving any ben efit other tlmu a temporary relief, for iliy com plaint would every two or throo days return, and tho catheter was my only helper. In 1837 I re moved to this county, mid brought with me my tormenting coumlaiiitnudiny friendly catheter.— Here, as there, I applied fa the most skillful phy sicians, ns I thought, ami here, ns there, I receiv ed no benefit from them. Iu September 1812, uftor having stilfercd ut times the mast excrucia ting pains lor eight years and nine months, and after having spent a great deal of money (at least §500) on doctors during the time, 1 was induced to try Dr. M. 8. Tliqiilson, of Macon, ami though I. entertained tlio most violent prejudice to his inode of practice, my necessity compelled ino to go, for I had then been confined to my house for ten days, anil had to resort to tho uso ofthe ca theter threo or four times daily. Iu this misera ble plight I left home, went to Dr. Thomson, stated my case to him, and lie gave mo medicine. In half an hour after taking his first dose, I felt that case, nnd hnd tlmt free nnd copious discharge of urine which l had not felt or lmd in almost nine years. And from tlmt time to this present day, March 20th, 1847, I have had tie return of niy complaint, and no more use far iny catheter. In order to mnko the cure permanent I continued tho use of tlio medicine ho vend mouths. Since thcnltnko nothing for it. I eat, drink, sleep, and work as in former days, and feel as well ami aonnd as ever I was. Yon may well suppose thnt it did not tnko long to banish prejudice at that rate, mid I now say to the afflicted, that I believe in many instances tlmt prejudice stands more iu tlio way oftheir recovery than tho incurability of their diseases. Such, Mr. Editor, is my expe rience of Dr. Thomson’s treatment, and such tlio results. Neither ho nor his remedies need any eucomium from me : tlio skill ofthe one nnd the efficacy oftho other aro too well known for that; but a fellow fading far the sufferers induced mo to take up tlio pun, nud to them is dodicated tho imperfect communication of Yours, respectfully, GEORGE G.
