tor is nwuru that the common ohjiutiou* to all now
preparations will bo urged against this. To obviate
nil such objections, ho pus simply to stato that it is
proparod according to tho receipt of tut eminent
physienn, who used it with porfect success
through a long practice, iu perhaps the most sick
ly region of our country, viz: tho Mississippi vul-
Ioy. Again from Uie exalted estimation in which
Quinine is held, not only by tlio people, but by
Uio most skillful physicians; it will appear superu-
rogatory to oiler any new article. But the Native
Febriftigo possesses all Uio power and certainty
ofQuinme in controlling Fever without uflocting
Uio head, and may ho safely used therefor,' where
Quinine iy inadmissible. It is not Uio purpose of
tlio proprietor however sanctioned by custom on
sudn occasions, to attempt a display of medical
knowledge by adopting Rome ono of the contra
dictory theories afloat, with regard to tlio charac
ter and causes of Fever.

points. Letting nil theories pass, wo stand by
facts. The first of which is taut tho Native Fe
brifuge will cure fever, from whatever causo it
may have originated, nnd if any doubt exists, as to

fering follow mortals has induced me to make the

violent pain iu my back and loins, uud the day
following with a total suppression or stoppage of
urine, tl was then a citizen of Jones county,
Ga.] I immediately railed in a physician of grout
eminence nnd distinction ; for thirty-six hours I
stifibred ns niucli, to all appearance, as it was
possible for human nature to endure, and nt last
found relief only by thu help of the catheter. I
applied then to sovcral eminent physicians both
in Baldwin and Jones, without receiving any bou-
cfit otiier timu a temporary relief, for my coni-
plaiiitwuuld every two or three days return, ami
Uio catheter was tny only helper, iu 1837 1 re
moved to this county, and brought with me my
tormenting complaint mid my friendly catheter.—
Here, us Uiero, I applied to the most skillful phy
sicians, as 1 thought, aud here, as there, l receiv
ed no benefit from them. In September 1842,
after having suffered at limes the most excrucia
ting pains for eight years aud nine months, nud
tiller having spent a great deal of motley (at least
§51)0) mi doctors during tlm time, I was induced
to try Dr. M. S. Thomson, of Macon, nud though
l entertained Uie most violent prejudice to his
mode of practice, my necessity compelled me to
go, for 1 hail then been confined to my house for
ten days, ami bad to resort to the use of tin* ca
theter three or four timus daily. In this misera
ble plight I left home, went to Dr. Thomson,
stated my case to hitn, and be gave me medicine.
In half an hour after taking his first dose, l felt Uiat
case, nud had that free and copious discharge of
urine which ( had not felt or had iu almost nine
yoars. And from that time to this present day,
March 20th, 1817, 1 have had uo return ofmy
complaint, mid no more use for my catheter. In
order to make thu cure permanent I continued
tlio use of tho. medicine several months. Sine
then I take untiling (far it. I oat, drink, sleej,
and work ns in former days, and Inel as well and
Bound as ever 1 was. You may well suppose that
it did mil tako long to banish prejudice at that
