It is prepared m con- sequence of the recommendstions given by Dr. H. R. Frost, Professor of Materia Medica in the Medical College of Charleston, S. C. in his work on 3fateria Medica, only concentrated by a pro cess of the subscriber** to render it more conven ient for administration, end with the exception of the addition of mercury which may at all times.be added when necessary. To shew the high esti mation which Dr- F. entertains of the combina tion of these articles, it is only necessary to refer to the shore mentioned work. There are few cases of chronic and painful Rheumatism that will not yield to the influence of Sarsaparilla and Queen's Delight if duly prese vered in, especially if taken in conjunction with Hrdr. of Potash. , Is highly recommended for all diseases of the skin, chronic as well as recent. One bottle will, in most instances, effectually remove all pimples, postale* or blotches on the Taco, to which young persons in this climate are so much subjected to, arising either from impurity of the blood or de bility. It is the best remedy known for scrofu lous affections, sores and breakings out in young children, and is safe and efficacious in removing entirely every trace of hereditary diseases from the system, in the tenderest infant; in fact, in all cutaneous affections it is invaluable. At a gen eral purifier of the blood, and an eradicator of all obstinate diseases, this preparation will undoubt edly take the precedence of all other remedies. It gently operates upon and regulates the bowels, restores to the blood its wonted purity, gives tone to the stomach, and promotes digestion. It wrll effectually relieve Erysipelas even in its worst stages, and all persons suffering from this distressing complaint are advised to use it, firrt so, but if no marked relief be fonnd after taking one bottle, it will be necessary to use the Hydrio- dated Potash with iu * M A t“iTci mended for the sent of the F«coh, — . In cases of inveteracy ofUlcers, or a prone ness of the affected parts to mortify, (or Gangrene.) it wffi be advisable for the unfortunate sufferer to resort to the use of some gentle purgative for a few days previous to using the Plaster, and con tinue the same till the cure is completed, which may be confidently expected in a reasonable time. No purgative more proper than Dr. Dyott’s well known Anti-Billions Pills. The Malengers of the Negroes is ranked under the denomination ofUlcers; this valuable Plaster is also a certain cure for it, if the same treatment be observed as above. Cancers, Erysipelas, Wens, Scrofula, Fistula, White Swelling, Sore Breasts, Ferons, Whitlows and Boils are removed, and cures happily pro duced by the use of this valuable Piaster. It' removes Abscesses, and dissipates collected humours; it also cures Sprains, Bruises, Anthrax, Scalds, Burns, and all Sores and Wonnds, tending to suppurate; it draws cauterized Sores or Dsues very successfully and without pun. It dissipates distressing pain from Gout or Rheumatism in a very short tune, and is a safe and certain cure for Rheumatism and flying Rheumatic Pains, if the Plaster be constantly applied to the affected parts for six or eight months, the part* affected become invigorated, and a cure seldom (ails to be com pleted. It is also successfully used for the cure of corns. Here was to be found the acids, the alkalis, the oils, the water, the air, the salts, the soda, Ac., all combined, con centrated. and chemically united into one single element of power, forming a substance more al lied and in affinity to the human blood than was ever before discovered in the works of nature. We can not consent to gratify the cupidity of an indivi dual, at the risk of imposing the confidence of thousand* of our readers who rely upon the hon esty of our statements, if not in the infolibility of our judineut. That greut improvement* have been made within a few years, in the instrument* of weighing merchandise, is a fact futniliar to busi ness men. The antique clumsy and inaccurate methods of weighing, have given way to the in vention of American mechanical skill, and tho ut most precision has been uttained. A variety of Platform Balance* are manufactured und used, which cannot he relied on for any considerable degree of accuracy: so that they necessarily In volve one party iu pecuniary loss. It therefore affords us pleasure to refer to tho Platform Scnles of Mr. Fairhauk, which have been extensively used iu all part* of tho United States for several years, nud given, ns far ns our knowledged ex tends, very general satisfaction. We purchased one oftliesu ucaJus throe year* since, aud have us ed them constantly for weighing paper, Ac. and for accuracy und durability, we nre quito sure, they have not, and perhaps cannot, be surpassed. The plan of construction is philosophical and simple. The employment of two levers, with a single beam, is certainly tho most practicable, in a compound plntfonu balance. For said they, not one single application has failed to cure. Liver Complaint, particularly, was treated with great and universal success. It produced such good result* in all cases that it has been noised abroad, and I was offered sums of money for a receipt to make it for private use merely. Every man spoke well of it, as it had done so much good. Not withstanding all, I have been careful not to recommend it, except in coses I knew it would do S ood. I was never willing to lend myself to any ling without first testing it* merits. This I en deavor to do on every occasion, and when I acted us one of the Sick Committee in the Lodge of I. O. of O. F. From all part* of the laud there have come up one deep, sincere and universal voice of approbation saying “McAlister thy tongue hath dropped the word of truth and love, while health forever attends thy foot *teps.” Aud were I now to give all the good sayings of the people, their unqualified approval, their thankfulness and gratitude, their joy at recov ering from discuse uud sickness, I could fill u volume.
