Oue day while chopping mjhe woods, I foolishly chopped my foot lio&riyW, instead or the tree. During this misfortune f Employed Iriyrelfin perusing the fragiueutleavo* ofan old volume, printed in Eag land Mine luindred yoara ago. Among tiiese scattered leave* 1 rend ofan herb which had betyi analyzed by some of England’s ancient Alclm- mists, shewing properties uud qualities never be fore fomul iu any plant that was ever discovered. This one herb, aider tlio force oftho Retort and Crucible, developed more than ten distinct properties. This fact struck my mind fo forcibly, that it was impossible to get rid’of it. Something Fcomod to tell me that Providence, whose special care is extended towards all hi* creatures, had never concentrated into one small herb so many medicinal qualities, us various uud ns complicated, although perfectly identical as the human blood, without a wise and good purpose. Here was^to be found thu aoids, tile alkalis, the oils, the watt*; the air, the suits, thu soda, Ac., all combined, con centrated, and chemically united into ouu single element of power, farming u substance more al lied and iu afiiuity-to the human blood than was ever before discovered in the works of nnture. Laboring under these impressions for several years, I became uneasy, discontented, and un willing to coutiuc tuyself luugcr to tin* duties of a farmer. Eveiy tiling seemed to point my mind to one object, viz.: tlio preparation of this herb into a medicine. 1 then determined to return to the city of N. Yoik. I did so, and immediately inquired for the herb. It was not to be found. 1 then sent to Europe aud there found it under another name. Having prepared tho article to my satisfaction, I gave it uwuy to all who would lire it. Hun dreds, l might say thousand*, took- it into their families und used it: some for one thing and some for another, and all from the very lint to the very last, pronounced it of uurivuled excel lence uud power. Tiie first case tliut come under my observation, was a man that had lost tho use of hi.* arm for some years. Tho Ointment restored his arm completely iu a few days. This surprised me a* in ion as it did tlio patient. After him there tame a nun with sore eyes produced by gunpowder—a very bad case indeed. One box only sitliicicd to make a perfect cure. And 1 would’here remark that hundreds have been .cured of tore eyes, who never found any relief but in this Oint ment. There next rauio a wonnn who was suffering excruciating pain from the ague in tho face.— Her physician (thinking it the toothache.) had extracted eleven of her teeth. Hitt the dtUiculty still remained as bad ns ever.’ The Application of the All Healing Ointment was attended with immediate cessation of pain. Her face however, began to swell, and the surface wa* covered over with pimple* of eruption like prickly heat. In one day all this disappeared. About the same time, a lady made application with it for the headache of long standing, ami a foiling of the hair. Tho Ointment cu.ed her # headache, ami restored her hair. Since tlii*, I liave known the Ointment to cure case* often, twenty and fortv years standing. I hesitate not to say. that it is almost an infallible remedy for this cotuplaiut. About this time there were two cases, one of Consumption, and the other of Scrofula, which had baffled the skill of every physician who pres cribed. It was wonderful to witness the effect of the Ointment on these persons. No one would believe it unless they had perron-illy witnessed if. But it did tlio work properly. There wa* no half way business,-for they recovered their health in a few months. •* * / Rheumatism, Fever,Quiuzy, Sore Throat, Cu taneous Eruption*, diseases of the Spine, uud Nervous Complaints were treated with unheard of success. Butin Chest diseases, such as Asth ma, pain and onpresrion, I beliove there is no bet ter remedy. Afro, the common diseases, such as Ulcer Sores, Scald Head, Humors of the Skin, Inflammation, Piles, Sore Eyes, Sprains, Bruises, and Burns, it seems to be u perfect antidote.— People would come into tho store smiling, wish ing to know if I was really tho Seventh Son, or whether the Ointment tliut I gave them was indeed idl-heulingin it* nature. For said they, not oue single application Inn failed to cure. Liver Complaint, particularly, was treated with great and.universal succoss. If produced such good results in all c.aroa that it has been noised abroad, and 1 was otfored sums of money for a receipt to make it for private use merely. Every man Hpoku well of it, n* it lmd done so much good. Not witli..taudiug all, I have been careful not to recommend it, except in cases I knew it would do good. I was never willing to lend myself to any thing without first testing it* merit*. 'Thi* I en deavor to do on every occasion, and wlien I acted a* one of the Sick Committee iu the Lodge of I. O. of O. F. I then tested it upon Brothers in the most critical conditions, aud had abundant oppor Utility of proving it* worth. And. iuconclii.-inn, I would remark that I have placed this Ointment before the people oftho U. States during tlio last nine or twelve months, and so general ha* been the satisfaction, and so great amount of good done, tiiat more than half it mill ion of boxes h ive already been sold. I do really believe there never was a medicine which gained .such widespread, universal and unanimous satis faction a.* tue All-Healing Ointment. From all parts of the land there have come up one deep, sincere and universal voice of approbation saying “McAlister thy longue liutit dropped the word of truth und love, while health forever ulicud.s thy footstep*.” And were 1 now to give all tiiegonil .saving* of the people, their unqualified approval, their Uiankfulne.** and gratitude, their joy at roc»v eriilg from di^oa.so nud sick lie**, I could Jill a volume.
