AUGUSTA. April 18, P. M.-C<*fa*.-The
market during (ha early part or this week wot
in a very depressed and languid condition—both
lioldaraand buyer* appearing to be unwilling to
operate. Toward the cloie of the week, howev
er. buyer* have manifested n little more anxiety
to purchase, and the uiarkot baa oMUined a bright
er septet, with aoino iniproveinont in price*.—
The quntity offering, however in very amall for
the stoekon hand, and the antes of the week are
comprised within 886 halva.'

demand and limited quotation*.

IIAM BURG.AprilPJ—Coifaii.—It will be re-
membored that we reported the uiurkctluat week
in a dull and unsettled condition. It remained
in that state far several days. On Saturday hut
a belter feeling acemed to spring up on tlto part
of buyers, whan thare wn* considerable en
quiry. This feeling has continued to the present
moment, all that is offered Gliding ready sale at
-prices ranging 4| to ti. The quantity offering
for sale is very light when compared with our
large stock. We quote sales for ordinary to mid
dling 4^ to 5J| middling lair to fair, 5] to 5]; Hilly
fair to good fair 6 to 64c.
COLUMBUS, April 17.—Caffon.—About one
thousaud bales have changed hands since our last
report, ; at 4 a 6|c. We have beard of sales
of choice lots at 5L There nre plenty ofbuyera
at the prices, but planters who are not obliged to
realize, coutinuo to hold.
CHARLESTON,'AprifTiT^Coffois.—The
Cotton market was quiet yesterday, the sales
having been limited to lOObalu*. at prices ranging
from 5 to 61 cents, and 13 bolus at 7 cents. Trices
unsettled.
Rice.—About 300 tierces were sold within the
range of 2 15-lCth* a 31—the bulk at $3 per
hundred.
Roiqfl Rice.—We have no sales to report.
BIOBILE, April 14, P. M.—Ce/ma.—The ar
rivals since the eth iuitaut inclusive, amount to
6136 bales, and the export* for the same period to
16,03*2 bales—leaving a stock on hand notclonred
last eveuing of 140,033 bales, aguiust 140,644 suuto
time last year.
Our cotton mnrkctU will be remembered, closed
quietly last week, with a slight indication of a
turn ill favor of buyers, though holders generally
were by no tneaus offering freely. Sules of the
week about 831)0 bales—middling 6c. per ib.—
This week Ute market opened with tio improve
ment in any respect, except prices perhaps wore
somewhat steadier. The proximity of the Wash-
ington’t accounts to the 26th March indisposed
parties to nperato, and consequently the sales of
the three first days did uol exceed 4500 boles.
On Wednesday we were advised briefly of the ar
rival of the Washington, so brief iudeed as to of-
ford very little information in regard to cottou,
and the mail-of next day simply announced thut
the Liverpool market had slightly improved.—
Yesterday several letters were received in town
from Augusta, Ga., stating that telcgrapliie de
spatches announced the arrival at New York of
the steamer Hibernia with Liverpool advices to
the 25th .March. The news of course measura
bly suspended busiuess here, only 3 a 400 bales
being sold dnring the day, the uiarkot Is so du-
ranged that we omit quotations entirely. Tiie
last sales we learn were inude at 51 a 5|c. for mid
dlings. We estimate the sales of the week at
6,700 bales. Nearly all was takon for England.
Rice.—Light sules are making ut former prices,
4a4|c. per lb.
Exchange.—The transactions of the past week
have hceu limited, and confined to chiefly tight
draffs and bank checks on Northern and Eastern
cities. The market dosed very quietly last even
ing as follows: Bills on Londou 6 a 71 prein.,do.
, on Francs, nominal; New York 60 days If a 24
die. and sight 1 a 1 prem.; Treasury Notes 2 a 9]
prein.

been—two American snips and a Imrk for Liver-
pal at 0-16d.t a bark for New York at 0-16c.,bark

Portland at |c.; and three schoouers for Provi-

on Materia Modica, aud concentrated by a pro

It is the % best remedy known for scroffiioui af

tiie precedence of all other remedies. It gently
operate* upon and regulate* the Imwels, restores
to the blood its wonted purity, gives tone to the
