This one herb, under the lores of the Retort

properties. This fact struck my mind so forcibly,
that it was impossible to get rid of it. Something
seemed to tall mo that Providence*, whoso spneinl

aver before discovered in the works of nature.
Laboring under these impression* for several

Everv thing seemed to point my miud to one

The first case that came under my observation,

almost sn infallible remedy for this complaint.
About thin time there were two case*, one of
Consumption, and the other of Scrofula, which
bad baffled the skill of every physician who pro*,

tht Ointment on these persons. No one would
btlitva it unless they had personally witnessed it.
Bat it did tho work properly. There was no half
way business, for they recovered their liualth in a
fsvr months.
Rheumatism, Fever, Quinzy, Sore Threat, Cu-

Nartous Complaints were treated with unheard

People would comu into the store smiling, wish
ing to know if i was really thn Seventh Sou, or
whether the Ointment that I gave them was indeed
ell-healing in its nature. For said they, not one
entile application has tailed to cure.
Liver Complaint, particularly, was treated with

It prodneed such good results in all cases that it
has bean noised abroad, and I was offered sums of
money for a receipt to make it for private use
merely. Every man spoke well of it, as it hud
dona so much good.
Not withstanding all, I have been careful not to
recommend it, except in cases I knew it would do
good. I was never willing to lend myself to any
thing without first testing it* merits. This I en
deavor to do on every occasion, and when I acted
