HL.AI.INtJOLNTMKNT.—Aonutlneyea.
1817,1 wo* living in the weatom part of tbh Slut«
pursuing the occupation of a ftriner. One day
while chopping in the woods, I foolishly chopped
my foot nearly off, instead of the tree. Duhxi£
-t ns misfortune I employed myself in perusing tha
fragment IcavMoftui old volume, printed 111 Eng
land aomo hundred years ago. Among tlie<4
scattered leaves I raad of an herb which had been
analyzed by some of England’s ancient Alche
mists, showing properties and qualities never be
fore found in any plant that was over discovered,
Thi« one herb, under the force of the Retort '
and Crucible, developed more than ten distinct
properties. This fact struck my mind so forcibly,
that it was impossible to got rid of it. Bomethiu.^
seemed to tell me that Providence, whoae special
cure is extended towards all his creatures, had
never concentrated into one small herb so many
medicinal qualities, as various and ns complicated,
dthough perfectly identical as tho human blood,
without a wise and good purpose. Here was to
be found tlm acids, the alkalis, the oils, the walai,
die air, tho salts, the soda, &c., all douibined, con
centrated. aud chemically united into ono single
element of power, forming a substance more al
lied and in affinity to the human bipod than was
ever before discovered in the works of nature.
Laboring under these impressions for soveral
years, 1 hccamo uneasy, discontented, and un
willing to confine myself longer to tho duties of a
farmer.
Every thing seemed to point my mind to one
object, viz.: the preparaiioii of tills herb into a
madiciue. I then determined to return to the city
'ff X. York. I did so, and immediately inquired
for the herb. It was wot to bo found. I then
sent to Europe and there found it uuder another
nama.
Having prepared tho article to my satisfaction.
; I gave it away to all who would usq it- Hun*
dreds, I might cay thousands, look it into their
families and lined it: some for one thing and
some for another, and all from the very first to
the very last, pronounced it of unrivaled excel
dice mid power.
, The first case that came under my observation,
] wm a man that had lost the use of his arm for
somn yogis. The Ointment restored hia arm
oinijleu'ly in a few days. Tliia surprised me a<
much ns ii did the patient. After him thbrfe caino
a man with sore eyes produced by gunpowder—a
very bad ca:>e indeed. One box’ only sufficied to
inane a perfect cure. And I would hore remark
thnt hundreds havo been cured of soro even,
who never found any relief but in tnis Oint
ment.
Thera next canto a woman who was suffering
excruciating pain fYom the ague hi tho face.—
Her physician (thinking it the tnothacheA had
extruded oloven of her teeth. But the difficulty
still remained m bad ae over. Tho Application
: of the All Healing Ointment was attended with
immediate cessation of pain. Her face however,
began to swell, and the surface was covered over
l with pimples nforuption like prickly heat. In
lone day nil this disappeared. About tho sazno
I time, a lady made application With it for tho
j headache oi’ long ntanairtg, and a filling of tho
j hair. The Ointment cured her headache, and
! restored her hair. Since this, I havo known tho
i Ointment to cure oaves often, twenty and foriy
j year*standing. I hesitate not to say, thnt ilia
’aimed an infallible remedy for tliia complaint.
About tliia time there were two cases, one of
i Cotwumptinn, and the other of Scrofula, which
j had hafiied the skill of every physician who pros*
! cril vd. It was wonderful lo witness the effect of
j the Ointment oh these persons. No ono would
] believe it unless they hud personally witneisedit.
| But it did Uio work properly. There was no half
j way business, for they recovered their health in a
! few months.
( Sheumntisiri, Fever, Ciuinzy, Sore Throat, Cu*
j (ntieous Eruptions, disease# or the Spiue, and
, Nervous Complaints wore treated with unheard
i of succoss. Butin Cheat diseases, such as Asth*
i mn, pain and oppression, I believe there is no bot-
i ter remedy. Also, the common diseases, such as
I Ulcer Seres. Heald Head, Humors of the Skin,
[ulUimnntion, Piles, Sore Eyes, Sprains, Bruises,
: and Burns, it seems to be a perfect antidote.—
j People would come into the store smiling, wish
; ing to know if I was really the Seventh Son, or
| whether the Ointment that I gave them was indeed
all-?|ouliug iu its nature. For suid they, not ono
j single application has failed to cure,
j Liver Complaint, particularly, was treated with
great and universal success.
It produced such good results in all cases that it
linn been noised abroad, and I was offered sums of
money for a receipt to make ii for private use
i merely. Every man spoke well of it, os it had
! done so much goad-
i Notwithstanding all, I have been careful not to
; recommend it, except incases I know it would do
; good. I was never willing to lend myself to any
thing without first testing its merits. Tliia I en
deavor to do on every occasion, aud When I aetod
:h one of the Jaick Committee in the Lodge of I.
(J. of O. F. 1 then tested it upon Brothers in tha
most critical conditions, aud hud abundant oppor
