WANTED — Proprietors of Drug or
Book Stores, and Pedlars, iu every town in the
United States, to act us agents for tho above
work. — sGmo oct 21
18D, I was Irving in the western part of this State
pursuing the occupation of a farmer. One dttf
while chopping in the Woods, I foolishly chopped
my foot nearly off, instead of tho tree. Dunng
t us misfortune I employed myself in perusing tho
fragment leaves of an old volume, printed In Eng
land some huudred years ago. Among these
scattered leaves I read of an herb Which liad been
analyzed by some of England’n ancient Alche
mists, shewing properties and qualities never be
fore found in any plant that Was ever discovered.
This one herb, under the force of the Retort
and Crucible, developed more than ten distinct
properties. This fact struolc my mind no forcibly,
dial it was impossible to get rid oTit. Something
seemed to tell me that Providence, Whose special
care iN extended towards all his. creatures, had
never concentrated into ono small herb so many
medicinal qualities, as various und as complicated!
although perfectly identical as tho human blood,
without a wise and good purpose. Hero was to
be found the acids, the alkalis, the oils, the water,
Uio air, tins salts, tho soda, dec., all combined, con
centrated. and chemically united into ono single
idomcm of power, forming a substance more aU
lied and in affinity to the human blood than was
ever before discovered in the works of nature.
Laboring under these impressions fbt several
yours, 1 became uneasy, discontented, and ‘du*
willing to confine myself longer lo tlio duties of a
fanner.
Every thing seemed to point my mind to one
object, viz.: the preparation of this herb into'a
medicine. I then determined to return to tho city
>f N. York. I did so, and immediately inquired
lor tho herb. It was not to be found. I thoii
sent to Europe and there frundit under another
name.
Having prepared the article to my satiifactioti.
I gave it away to all who would use it. Hun
dreds, I might say thousands, took it into their
families and used it: sumo for one tiling and
some for another, aud all from the very first to
ilio very last, pronounced it of unrivaled excel
unco and power.
Thu first case that came under my observation,
won a man that hud lost the use of his arm for
some years. Tlio Ointment restored his ami
completely in a few days. This surprised me ni
inueh as it did tho patient. After him there cams
a mail with sore eyes produced by gunpowder—a
very bad case indeed. One box only sufficicd lo
make ii perfect cure. And I would here ruinark
tint hundreds have been cured of sore eyes)
who never found any relief but iu tnis Oint.
incut. •
Thrroncxtcamo a womnu who was suffering
excruciating pain from the ague in the face.—
Her physician (thinking it the toothache,) hud
extracted olevon of her teeth. But the difficulty
■itill remained as bad as ever. The Application
of the All Healing Ointment was attended with
immediate cessation of pain. Ucrfuco however,
began to swell, and the surface tvfls covored over
with pimples of eruption like prickly heat. In
ono day all this disappeared. About tho samd
liiuo, a lady mndo application with it for tho
headache of long standing, and a fulling o( the
hair. The Ointment cured her headache, aud
restored her hair. Since this, I have known the
Ointment to cure cases often, twenty and forty
years standing. I licsitato not to say, that it is
aliucHt an infallible remedy for this complaint*
About this time there were two cases, ono ol
Consumption, and tho other of Scrofula, which
had hnfiied the skill of every physician who pres*
cril ed. It was wonderful to witness the oifectof
the Ointment on these persons. No ono woUld
believe it unless they hud personally witnessed it.
But it did the work properly. There was no half
way business, for they recovered their health inQ
few months.
Shourantism, Fever, Quinzy, Sore Throat, Cu
taneous Eruptions, diseases of tho Spine, aud
Nervous Complaints were treated with unheard
of success. Butin Chest diseases, such as Asth
ma, pain and oppression, I believe there is no bot-.
ter remedy. Also, tho common diseases, such as
Ulcer Sores. Scald Head, Humors of the Skin,
Inflammation, Piles, Sore Eyes, Sprains, Bruises!
and Burns, it seems to be a pcrlect antidote.—
Peoplo would come into the store smiling, wish
ing to know if I was really the Seventh Son, or
whether the Ointment that I gave them was indeed
nll-qeaiingm ita nature. For said they, not one
single application has failed to cure.
Liver Complaint, particularly, Was treated with
great and universal success.
It produced auch good results in all cases that it
hns been noised abroad, and I was offered sums of
money for a receipt to make it for privato use
meroly. Evory man spoko well of it, as it bad
dounso much good.
Notwithstanding all, I have been careful not to
recommend it, except incuses I knew it would do
good. I was never willing to lend myself to any
thing without first testing ito merits. This I en
deavor to do on every occasion, aud when I acted
as one of the Sick Committeo in tho Lodge of I.
O. of O. F. I then tested it upon Brothers in th*
moxtcritiealconditions, and had abundantoppor
(unity of proving its worth.
Aiid, In conclusion. I would remark that I havo
pi iced this Ointment before the peoplo of tlio U.
States during the Inst nine or twelve mouths, and
so general haa been the satisfaction, and so groat
amount of good done, that more than half a mill
ion of boxen have already been sold. I do really
believe there never was a medicine which gained
such widespread, universal and unanimous satis
faction as the All-Healing Ointment. From all
parts of tlio land there have come up ono deep,
•duccrcnnd universal voice of approbation saying
••McAlister thy tongue hath dropped tho word of
irulh and love, while health forever attends thy
toot steps.” And were I now to give all the good
tayings of the people, their unqualified approval,
their tnankfulueas and gratitude, their joy at rccov
