1811,1 was living In the westei n part of ffila Stato

while chopping In the woods, I foolishly oiibppod
my foot nearly off, instead of the troo. During
t us misfortuno I employed myself in jiohnung ffio
frngmctitleaveaofati old volume, printed ih-Eitg
land somo hundred years ago. Attlong these
scattered leavos I t oad ofnn herb which had bebn
aualyzed by somo of P.tigldiid’s ahclpnt Alche-
mists, Hhcwing properties and qualities never be-
forfe found iu any plant that was over discovered.
This one herb, under tho force of the Retprt
and Crucible, developed more than ten distinct
properties. This fact stnick my xniud so forcibly,
hat it was impossible to got rid of it. Sothethina
*oei«td to tell me that Providenco, whose special
care i# extended towards all his creattirfcS, had
uover concentrated into one small herb so tnati^
medicinal qualities, n# various and os complicated,
although perfectly identical a# the human blood,
without a wise nnd good purposo. Here was to
bo found the adds, tho alkalis, tho oils, the wator,
the air, tho Halts, tho suda, Ac., all combined, con
centrated. and chemically uuitcd into bho singld
element ef power, forming a substance more al
lied and in nfiiuity to the human blood than
ever befiire discovered in the works of n&turer
Laboriug under these impressions fox.Several
veurs, I became uneasy, discontented, and un
willing to confine myself longer to tlio duties of a
farmer.
Every thing scented to point my mind to ono
object, viz.: tho preparation of this herb into n
medicine. I then determined to return to the city
•f N. York. I did ko, and immediately iiiquirbd
for the herb. It was not to be found. I thou
scut to Europe ami there found it undor another
iiani’o. ....
Having prepared tho articlo to my sotisiaction.
I gave it away to all who would tiso it. Huff-
dreds, 1 might say thousands, took it into thoir
families and used it: somo for ono tiling and
some for another, and all IVon\ tho very first^o
the very last, pronounced it of unrivaled excol
dice nnd power.
Tho first case that came under my observation;
was a man that had lost the pso of his arm for
somo years. Tho Ointment hostored. his arm
completely in n few days. This Kurprifod hie a#
much as it did the patient. After him there cam#
a mail with aorc eyes produced by gunpowder—a
very had case Intlebd. jOno box* only sufficied to
make a perfect euro. And I would here remark
that hundred# have been cured of eorn oyos,
who uovur found auy relief but iu mis Oint
ment.
Them next came w woman who was suffering
excruciating pain from tho nguo in tiio fnoc.—
Ilcr physician (thinking it tlio toothache,) had
extracted eleven of her teeth. But the difficulty
still remained n# bnd ns ever. The Application
pl'the All Healing Ointment was attenued with
immediate cessation of pain. Ilerfupo lynvovc),
began to swell, and the surface was covered ovor
with pimples of eruption like prickly heat. Iu
one day all this disappeared. About tho sainn
time, a Indy made application with it for tho
headacho of long standing, and a falling of the
hair. The Ointment cured her headacho, and
restored her hair. Since this, I have known ilia
Ointment to cure cases often, tivonty aud forty
years standing. I hesitate not to say, that it w
ahui-Ht an infallible remedy for tins complaint.
About this time (hero were two coses, one bf
Consumption, mid tlio other of Scrofula, which
had baffled the skill of every physician w.hq pres
cribed. It wo# ivond’crfiil to witness ffieefftetof
tho Ointment ou these persons. No ouo would
believa it unless they had personally witnessed It;
But it did tho work properly. There wa$ no bqlf
way business, for thoy recovered their health iua
few months.
Shnunintism, Fever, Quitizy, Snro Throat, Cu-
lanoou# Eruptions, discaac# of the Spine. a)id
Nervous Complaints were treated with Unnbgrd
of snccosa. Butin Chest diseases, such os Asth
ma. pain aud oppression, I believe there is iio hot
ter remedy. Alxo, the common diseases, such a#
Ulcer Sores. Scald Head, Humor# of tho Skin,
Innomination, Files, Sore Eyes, Sprain#, Bruise#,
and Burns, it scents to be a perfect antidote.—
People would come into the store smiling, wish
Ing to know if 1 was really the Seventh Son, or
whether the OiutmenUhat I gave them Was iUdowl
all-qoaling in its nature. For Said thoy, liot bn*
single application has failed to cure.
Liver Complaint, particularly, Was treated wjth
great and universal success.
It produced such good icsults in all cases that it
bus been noised abroad, add I was offered sums of
money for a receipt to uinko it for private uso
merely. Every man spoke well of it, as it had
donoso inuchgBod.
Notwithstanding all, I have been careful hot lb
recommend it, except in eases 1 knew it would do
good. I was never willing to lend myself to any
thing without first testing it# merits. This I'oil-
donvor to do on every occasion, and when I actod
ns one of tho Sick Committee in the Lodge of I.
O. of O. F. I then tested it upon Brothers in th»
moM critical conditions, and hud abundant oppor
utility of proving its woith.
Aud. in conclusion, I would rotnark that I have
pi ifed this Ointment before the people of tho U.
States during tho Iasi nine or twelve months, ond
so general has been thu satisfaction, aud so groat
amount of good done, that ihoretlian half a. mill
ion of boxes have already been sold. I do really
believe there never was a modicino which gained
such widespread, universal and unanimous satis
faction a# the All-Healing Ointment From all
parts of the land there have come up one deep,
sincere nhil universal voice of approbationsnyihg
••McAlister thy tongue hath dropped tho word of
i mlh ami love, whilo health foreVer attends thy
footsteps.” And Were I now to give all the good
sayings of the people, their unqualified approval,
ihoir thankfulness und grniitudo, their joy alrepov
cring from disease and sickness, I could fill a
volume. James McAmstek, New York.
