Tho time has now ar

tim ok quackery, as by tlm
prescriptions contained in
this hook anyone may euro himself, without hin
drance to tuisiiiess, or the knowledge of thu most
iiitimatu friend, mid with one-tenth tlm usual ex
pense. In addition to the general routine of
private disease, it fully ox plains tho cau.su of
manhood’s early decline, with observations on
marriage — besides many other derangements
which it would not bo proper to enumerate iu
tlm public prints.

IIP WANTED — Proprietors of Drug or
Book Stores, mid Pedlars, in every town in tlm
United States, to act as agents for the above
work. — sGmo oct 21
I was living in tho western part of this Staid
piirsiiing dm occunauon of a farther. On« daf
wlule chopping lit tiifi Woods, I foolishly chopped
my foot nearly oO, instead of Urn tree. Durlhi
t us misfortune I employed myselfln perusing tho
fragmenneitYoBofaii old volume, printed in Eug
land gome hundrod years ago. Among these
scattered leaves I read of an borb which had been
analyzed by sunie or England's aUbieht Alche-
mists, shewing properties and qualities never be-
Toro found in any plant thut was ever discovered-,
Phis one herb, under tho force of the Retort
and Crtlcible, developed moro than ten distinct
properties. This fact struck my mind so forcibly,
dial it was impossible to get rid of it. Something ~
seemed to tell mo thrtt Providouce, whoso special
care is extended-towards all his creatures,'had
never coucentrutdd into nuo amull herb so many
medicinal qualities, as various and us complicated,
although perfectly identical os the human blood,
without a wise and good purpose. Here was to
be ftnuid the acids, the alkalis, tlm oils, the water,
uicuir, the suits, the soda, &c., all combined, con
centrated. mid chemically united into oiio single
element of power, forming a substance more al
lied and iu aflinily to the hitman blood than was
ever before discovered in tlm works of nature.
Lulioriug under these impressions for several
years, 1 became uneasy, discontented, and un
willing to confine myself longer to tho ditties of a
farmer.
Every tiling Stsemed to point my mind to ono
ohjnct, viz.: tlm preparation of this herb into n
medicmo. I then determined to return to the city
of N. York. I did so, and immediately* inquired
fiir tho Imrb. It was not to bo found. I thou
sont tn Europe ami there found it uuder another
name.
Having prepared the article to my satisfaction.
I gave it away to all who would live it. Hun
dreds, 1 might say thousands, took it into their
families mid itrcd it: somo for one thing mui
some for another, and all from the very first to
the very lust, pronounced it of unrivaled cxcol
cure mid powm
The (list Case that came under my observation,
was a nmn that Imd lost tlm use of his arm for
borne years. Tlm Ointment restorod his arm
completely iu a few days. This nurpHpttd me «u
much ns it did the patient. Aft*r him there came
a mini with sore eve* produced by gunpowder—a
very bad case indeed. One box only sullicied to
make a perfect cure. And I would here remark
that hundreds have been cured of sore eyes,
who never found any relief but in tnis Oint
ment.
There nnxtcamo a womnn who was suflbrlug
05OTldlW6vAVI i tti r rft , ? , i^Yh.’‘-’B\ihnti-Tiiftictuty
•till remained ns bad ns over. The Application
of tlio All Holding Ointment wob attended with
immediate cessation of pitltt. Her face htrtvcver,
began to swell, and timsurfaco was covered ovor
With pimples of eruption like prickly heat. In
ono day nil this diauppenrod. About the snme
time, a lady mudo application with it for the
Imndacho nf long standing, and a falling of tlm
haiv. Tlm Ointment eufed her headache, nnd
restored her hair. Since this, 1 have known tho
Ointment to cure cases often, twcuty and forty
yearsstuuding. I hesitate not to sAy, that it in
ttlmi'Ht mi infallible remedy for this complaint.
About thiH time there werB two cases, one of
Ctttisitmption, nnd the other of Scrofula, which
had batllcd tlm skill tif every physician who.pHSA-
cril’ed. It was wonderful to witness the effect of
tlm Ointment on these persons. No one would
believe it unless limy had personally witnessed it.
But it did tlm work properly. There was no half
way business, for they recovered thoir health iua
few months.
Shcumutism, Fever, Clttinsy, Sore Throat^Cu-
tnimnus Eruptions, discuses of tlm Hnitm, aud
Nervous Cnmnliiiiits were treated with unheard
of success. Butin Chest diseases, such as Asth
ma, pain And oppression, l believe there is ho bet
ter remedy. Also, tlm common diseases, such at
Ulcer Sores. Scald Hcud, Humors of the Skin,
Inflammation, Piles, Sore Eyes, Sprains, Bruisos,
and Burns, it scorns to bo a perfect antidote.—
People would como into tlm store smiling, wish
ing to know if I was really the Seventh Son, or
whether the Ointment that I gave them was indeed
nll-qeidiug iu its nature. For said tiioy, not onu
single application has failed to cure.
Liver Complaint, particularly, was traaiedwilh
great and universal success.
It produced such good results iu all cases that it
has been noised atiroud, aud I was o tiered sums of
money for n receipt to make it for private use
merely. Every man spoke well of it, as it had
doncso much gt)od.
Notwithstanding nil, I have been careful notlo
recommend it, except in cusos I knew it would do
good. I wnsnevor willing to lend myself to any
thing without first testing its merits. This I en
deavor to do on every occasion, Ahd Wlrttt I acted
as one of tlm Sick Committun iu the Lodge of I.
O. of O. F. I then tested it upon Brothers in the
most critical conditions, nnd hud abundant oppor
funily of proving its worth.
And, in conclusion, I would rottiavk that I ItnVB
pi mud this Ointment beforb the people oftho U.
States during llm last nine or twelve months, and
so general bus liccu tlm satisfaction, aud so great
amount of good done, that moro than half a mill
ion of boxes have already been sold. I do really
believe there never wusu medicine which gained
kiicIi widespread, universal nnd unanimous soft.*-
faction us toe All-IIealing Ointment. From oil
parts of the land there have cornu up one deep,
sincere and universal voice of approbation saying
•‘McAlister thy tongue hath dropped the word of
truth nnd love, wliilo health forever attends thy
footsteps.” And were I now to give all tlm good
sayings of the people, their unqualified approval,
llmir thankfulness and gratitude, thoir(joy ut recov
tiring from disease and sickness, l could fill a
volume. James McAlister, ; New York.
